Waite gets top seed in CL playoffs

Waite's Indians earned the top seed in next week's City League girls tournament by outscoring the host Bulldogs 35-14 in the first half last night and going on to a 64-39 victory at Scott.

Mariah Haynes led all scorers with 19 points, while Kenya Middlebrooks and Natasha Howard added 12 and 11, respectively, for Waite (12-5, 10-1).

Skylar Gregory scored 13 points to lead Scott (5-13, 4-7).

NOTRE DAME 64,

WOODWARD 7

Notre Dame (14-4, 8-3) easily clinched the fourth seed in the CL playoffs as Kasey Fought scored 14 points and Jackie Litle added 13.

BOWSHER 71, ROGERS 27

Amanda Gregory, Tiffani Blackman and Tiara Roberts combined for 52 points to lead the Rebels to the easy victory.

Gregory led all scorers with 18 points, Blackman and Roberts each had 17 and Golden Brown added 11 for Bowsher (11-7, 7-4). Dominique Savage finished with 10 to lead the Rams (4-13, 2-9).

CLAY 63, ST. URSULA 41

Amanda Watson scored 15 points and Jessica Achter added 12 as the Eagles (9-8, 7-4) flew to a 19-4 lead after one quarter and were never caught.

Holly Lorton topped the Arrows (5-11, 4-7) with eight points.

WHITMER 59, LIBBEY 34

At Libbey, Laura Campbell scored 22 points and Ashley Hooker added 12 for the Panthers (8-10, 4-7).

Macketta Allen led Libbey (2-14, 1-10) with 12.
