Lehman hits 32 for Irish

Cory Lehman poured in 32 points last night to lead Central Catholic to a 75-68 Division II boys sectional basketball victory over Napoleon at Anthony Wayne.

Matt Collins added 14 points for the Irish (11-8), who hit 15 of 20 free throws to the Wildcats' 5 of 8.

Napoleon (14-6) lost despite placing four players in double figures as Lee Hunter had 22 points, Ryan Fleck 17, Jordan Kruse 16 and Wes Hesterman 13.

Central hit 25 of 52 shots from the field while Napoleon struggled, going 16 of 44.

Central won on the boards, 31-28, and committed 14 turnovers to Napoleon's 16.

DEFIANCE 48, WAUSEON 40

At Anthony Wayne, Defiance outscored Wauseon 10-2 in overtime to advance.

Jordan Mack led the Bulldogs (15-5) with 23 points, including five 3-pointers, and Bryn Lehman had 11. Richard Russell paced the Indians (15-6) with 15 points.

CLYDE 63, EASTWOOD 61

At Sandusky, Clyde (18-3) edged Eastwood with Alex Gillett pouring in 27 points. Tommy Stein, Logan Tea and Kyle Smeltzer each scored 11. Eastwood (15-6) was paced by Jason Faykosh's 15 points. Chad Fairbanks and Clay Rolf had 14 and 12 points, respectively.

At Waite, 11 Titans scored, led by Jay Springs' nine points on three 3-pointers. Dorian Phillips led the Polar Bears with nine.

CLAY 81, BOWSHER 48

At Waite, Matt Swain had 17 points, Andrew Kuns 16 and Zac Taylor had 11 points and six blocked shots as a dozen Eagles scored.

Thomas Mays led Bowsher with 13 and Nate Pompili and Austin Boisselle added 11 each.

At Southview, Phillip Beans scored 20 points to pace Ottawa Hills (18-3). Eliot Browarsky added 16 and J.J. Buckey had 10. Pat Brown scored 14 for Liberty Center (1-20).

At Southview, Evergreen (11-10) rolled as Cory Truckor scored 17 points and Zach Oswald added 13. Mike Mathews led Lake (4-17) with 10 points.

At Old Fort, Matt Kreglow poured in 25 points, Jordan Kirwen hit four 3-pointers and scored 17 points, and Tony Egbert added 13 as Gibsonburg rolled. Evan Kurt led Margaretta with 20.

At Old Fort, Ryan Hicks scored 20, Jarrod Cox added 14 and Tory Horne had 12 for Port Clinton, which hit 17 of 21 free throws. Chris Baldwin paced Edison with 16.

At Findlay, Jake Meyer scored 28 points and Justin Schomaeker added 18 for Ottawa-Glandorf (16-5). For Lakota (6-15), Brett Filliater had 16 points, Jacob Smith 14 and Ryan Babcock 10.

At Findlay, Kory Place led Bluffton with 15, Tyler Neal had 12 and Patric Garlock 10. Preston Shank scored 11 for Elmwood. The result left both teams 12-9.

At Bowling Green, Van Buren got 18 from Matt Phillips, 15 from Logan Grant and 12 from Ray Wolfe. Chris Casey led North Baltimore with 11.

At Bryan, Cory Sullivan scored 20 points and Tyson Short and Jordan jaggers each added 15 for Stryker, which hit 20 of 24 free throws. Sean Baines scored 20 and Ethan Schroeder 11 for Edgerton.

At Bryan, Edon won in overtime with just five scorers, all in double figures. Garrett Whitney had 14, Adan Wakefield 13, Nate Aschliman 11 and Jake Brown and Kyle Ankney 10 each.

Austin Hylander scored 22 for Fayette.

At Port Clinton, Nick Wiedenhoft poured in 33 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and handed out six assists for Danbury (10-11). Michael Hamann added 13 points and Derek Oglesbee and Travis Waggoner had 12 apiece.
