Monroe eliminates Bedford girls 48-47
2/23/2008YPSILANTI, Mich. Ariel Hatcher scored 19 points and Bedford missed a three-point shot in the final seconds as Monroe escaped with a 48-47 Michigan Class C district final victory last night.
The Mules were down by three points with fi ve seconds left and scored off a putback on the missed shot to come up short by a point.
Amelia Davis paced the Mules, who end with a 20-3 mark, with 14 points and Kaylee Foster contributed 10. Monroe (18-5) advances to regional semifi nal play Tuesday against Romulus in Wyandotte.
