Margaretta tops Genoa; Comets finish 20-4; Tinora, St. Wendelin win

OLD FORT - Margaretta squeezed out a 56-55 victory over Genoa last night in a Division III girls basketball district final.

Genoa came within one point when Chelsea Nissen drilled a 3-point shot at the buzzer.

Sarah Weaver led the Polar Bears (19-4) with 18 points while Brittany Morris added 15 and Tiffany Tucker 10.

Simone Eli paced the Comets (20-4) with 18 points, followed by Ashley Roberts with 13 and Brittany Darling with 11.

TINORA 57,

WAYNE TRACE 48

NAPOLEON - Chelsie Timmons had 18 points, 16 rebounds and five blocked shots to lead the Rams to a Division III title.

Katie Weber added 11 points for Tinora (22-2), which had 10 players in the scoring column.

Sara Priest had 12 points and Becky Ruble 11 for the Raiders.

At Anthony Wayne, Perkins improved to 22-1 as Cierra

Bravard netted 24 points, Bethany Caudill 14 and Trisha Krewson 9.

Krista Roe topped Wauseon (15-6) with 13 points.

FINDLAY - Unbeaten Fostoria St. Wendelin improved to 24-0 as Francena Tate scored 14 points and Lauren Feroski 11.

Jessica Schroeder topped the Vikings with 17 points.

BOWLING GREEN - Jackie Reinhart tallied 17 points and Paula Kelbley 12 for New Riegel.

Samantha Kaple had 13 and Samantha Kelbley 11 for McComb.

ARCHBOLD - Brooke Tegenkep knocked down 19 points, Jessica Brown 18 and Sarah Spitnale 16 for the Pirates (16-6).
