Napoleon's Zumfelde takes second place at state bowling

LANCASTER, Ohio - Napoleon's Kelsey Zumfelde finished second at the Ohio state bowling tournament held at Tiki Lanes Saturday.

Zumfelde, a senior, rolled games of 223-226-216 for a 665 series, eight pins better than Kathryn Cox of Beavercreek in third. Jennifer Grady of Kettering Fairmont, who finished with a 730 series, was the only girl to beat Zumfelde.

The rest of the Napoleon finishers included Nicole Ehlers in 57th place, Jessica Parson in 74th, and Joann Hartman in 81st. Ellen Hoops, Rachel Hoops, and Danielle Williams also bowled at least one game for the Wildcats at the tournament.

Katelynn Mount of Wauseon finished 49th among the girls with a 512 series.

As a team the Napoleon girls finished 14th in qualifying and did not advance to the championship bracket, which was won by Centerville.

On the boys side, Riverside Stebbins won the team title, while Brice Ream of Urbana took individual honors with a 763 series.

Justin Netherland of Port Clinton placed ninth with games of 256-230-192 for a 678 series, while Tommy Granata of Perrysburg finished 76th.
