Archbold's Goering is All-Ohio

COLUMBUS - Archbold's Gene Goering, a 6-3 senior who averaged 20.1 points per game, was named first team All-Ohio in Division III last night when the D-III and D-IV teams were announced.

Findlay's Aaron Kraft, a 6-1 sophomore who averaged 18.5, was named to the second team in D-III.

In Division IV, Van Buren's Matt Phillips, a 6-4 senior who averaged 20.8, was named to the second team.

Patrick Henry's Kyle Tietje, a 6-6 senior who averaged 21.1, and Arlington's Jacob Drerup, a 6-4 senior who averaged 19.8, were named to the third team in D-IV.

Sugarcreek Garaway's Tyler Gerber and Cleveland Villa Angela-St. Joseph's Nate Barnes share the player of the year award in Division III, with Worthington Christian's Brian Hecker the choice in Division IV.

Gerber, a 5-foot-9 senior guard, averaged 20 points, 5 assists and 3 steals a game for Garaway. Barnes, a 5-10 senior, averaged 18 points and 4 assists.

Hecker, a 6-4 junior, averaged 21.3 points and 7.6 rebounds while shooting 55 percent from the field.

And, Whiteford's Josh DuPree, a 5-11 senior who averaged 22.4 points per game, was named to the Class C All-Michigan team.
