Skilliter paces Genoa victory

GENOA - Blair Skilliter scored three touchdowns and rushed for 103 yards on nine carries as Genoa routed Mohawk 55-0 last night.

Skilliter scored on touchdown runs of 51 and 25 yards. He also scooped up a fumble by Mohawk's Keith Zeigler and returned it 20 yards for a score.

Zach Apel caught two touchdown passes from Matt Bassitt, for 31 and 32 yards. Apel finished with three catches for 93 yards.

Connor Wendt scored on a five-yard run, Marcus Vickers scored on a two-yard run and Tyler Pickard added a three-yard score.

Cory Huffman led Mohawk on the ground with 10 carries for 46 yards.

Gibsonburg 25,

Ottawa Hills 3

Tony Egbert ran for one TD and threw for another to pace visiting Gibsonburg.

Egbert ran for one yard to score and hit Andy Gerlach for an 81-yard touchdown.

The Golden Bears also got an 18-yard scoring run from Avery Potridge and a three-yard TD run by Jordan Binder.

Josh Bruner hit a 27-yard field goal for the Green Bears' only score.

Gibsonburg's Egbert hit 5 of 10 passes for 110 yards, while Potridge gained 145 yards on 22 carries.

Nasri Hajjar led Ottawa Hills with 114 yards on 24 carries.

Gibsonburg outgained Ottawa Hills 265 yards to 136 on the ground and 375 to 169 overall.

Lakota 27,

Northwood 22

In a game filled with big plays, Lakota's Austin McGown scored three long-distance touchdowns. He opened the scoring with a 59-yard TD pass from John Timmons. He added TD runs of 43 and 81 yards and gained 180 yards on 12 carries.

Kevin Lowery scored the other Raiders touchdown on a 26-yard pass from Timmons.

Chris Keith scored twice for Northwood on 35 and 68-yard passes from Kyle Gunn. Nate James added a rushing TD for the Rangers from five yards out.

Hopewell-Loudon 42,

Elmwood 7

BASCOM - Hopewell-

Loudon raced to a 35-0 lead in putting Elmwood away.

Aaron Kapelka, Jay Yost and Matt Brickner scored two touchdowns apiece for the Chieftains. Yost caught 30 and 74-yard TD passes from Tyler Brown, who completed 16 of 20 passes for 254 yards.

The other four scores came on rushes of less than 10 yards.

Shannon Stewart scored for Elmwood on a six-yard pass from Reid Rothenbuhler.

Port Clinton 27,

Woodmore 26

PORT CLINTON - Port Clinton roared back to score two touchdowns in the final 5 1/2 minutes for a one-point victory as Richard Harris tallied on a three-yard run and Allen Tigner caught a seven-yard TD pass from Kyle Wolf, who also ran for two scores.

Wolf picked up 142 yards on 29 carries, while Woodmore's Matt Travis picked up 110 yards on 15 carries.

Michael Fahle had two short touchdown runs for the Wildcats, while Pierce Fonseca returned a kickoff 95 yards for a TD.
