Antwerp knocks off Ottawa Hills

Antwerp s Josh Smith ran for 166 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Archers to a 28-14 win at Ottawa Hills.

Smith scored on runs of 21, 5 and 54 yards in helping Antwerp (2-1) pile up 237 rushing yards to go along with 221 passing yards for 458 yards of total offense.

Archers quarterback Quinn Tempel, who was 15 of 30 passing for 220 yards, scored on an eight-yard run in the first quarter.

Ottawa Hills scored twice thanks to Jimmy Zimmerman, who found the end zone on a 1-yard run in the first quarter and threw a 17-yard TD pass to J.J. Buckey in the final quarter.

The Green Bears (0-3) were led on the ground by Nasri Hajjar, who ran for 116 yards on 17 carries.

LAKESIDE Fostoria St. Wendelin rushed for 513 yards on 46 attempts to improve to 3-0.

Rob Herrig accounted for 152 yards and four touchdowns on nine carries and Lucas Holman added two touchdowns and 81 yards on five rushes.

Also topping 100 yards for the Mohawks were J.J. Hrabak (13 carries, 143 yards) and Dan Faber (13 carries, 112 yards).

Hilltop 32, Holgate 14

WEST UNITY Chad Beals rushed for 209 yards on 14 carries and scored four touchdowns for Hilltop. Logan Armbruster gained 89 yards on seven carries and scored a TD.

Beals scored on runs of 30, 5, 78 and 27 yards.

The Cadets Josh Westfall completed 11 of 16 passes for 174 yards.

Josh Buttermore led Holgate with 115 yards rushing on 18 carries and one TD.

Edgerton 57, Cardinal Stritch 27

EDGERTON Jeff Crowe led Edgerton with touchdown runs of 1 and 27 and also caught a seven-yard touchdown pass.

Dalonte Parker led Cardinal Stritch with 48 yards rushing on eight carries, including a 12-yard touchdown run.
