Toth carries load for Clay

Mike Toth had a big game to lead Clay past visiting Waite 35-14.

Toth carried the ball 24 times for a team-high 137 yards and three touchdowns (10, 4, 5) for the Eagles (3-1, 1-0). Drew Kuns finished the game 13-of-20 for 131 yards, including a 14-yard touchdown pass to Frankie Kouts.

Tyler TenEyck returned a punt 59 yards to add another score for Clay with three seconds left in the first half.

Joey Imm led Waite (0-4) with two touchdown passes. The first was a 34-yard pass to Frank Cruz-Padilla. The other a 15-yarder to Henry Newsome.

Bowsher jumped to a 21-0 lead after the first quarter, then cruised to open its City League schedule with a win at Scott.

Sheron Brown led the Rebels (1-3, 1-0) with 11 carries for 68 yards and two touchdowns (41, 1). Darius Pullom ran for a 48-yard touchdown for the Rebels. Brian Shelton threw a 53-yard touchdown to Jalen Patterson for the final Bowsher score.

Armon Richardson scored on a three-yard run to put Scott (0-4, 0-1) on the board. The Bulldogs Lamon McKitric added a three-yard touchdown run for the only score in the second half.

Bowsher finished the game with 196 yards rushing, while holding Scott to 77.

St. Francis led 17-0 at halftime and rolled to victory in a home game at Rogers. Greg Fockler caught two touchdowns from D.J. McPartland (35, 6). Pat Byer added a 33-yard field goal at the end of the first half.

John Metzger rushed for a 10-yard touchdown for the final Knight (2-2, 1-0) touchdown. Lee Lukasik paced the St. Francis ground game with 83 yards on 20 carries.

E.J. Tucker led Rogers (1-3, 0-1) with 20 carries for 76 yards and a five-yard touchdown.

At Whitmer, the Panthers outscored the Spartans 28-7 in the second half to break open a close game.

Panther senior tailback Julian Nash had a huge night, scoring five touchdowns and totaling 145 yards. Whitmer (1-3 overall, 1-0 City) quarterback Joe Missler threw for two scores and was 18-24 for 246 yards.

Start (0-4, 0-1) tailback Troy Bell also had a big game with three touchdowns and 223 yards.

T.J. Rowland had an 85-yard interception return for a touchdown to seal the victory for the Panthers.

Phillip Thomas led Libbey to an easy win at Waite with 138 rushing yards on 17 carries and two touchdowns.

Thomas scored on runs of 31 and 25.

Marcus Lipkins added 51 yards on three carries, including a 40-yard TD run, while Julius Mosely had 26 rushing yards on three carries with TD runs of 20 and 2 for the Cowboys (2-2, 1-0). Libbey finished with 283 rushing yards.

Woodward dropped to 0-4, 0-1.
