Elmwood tops Lakota

BLOOMDALE - Shannon Stewart hauled in a seven-yard touchdown pass in overtime from Reid Rothenbuhler last night as Elmwood prevailed 28-27 over Lakota.

Lakota matched Elmwood's touchdown with a 16-yard score on a pass from John Timmons to Roger Guerra. However, the extra-point kick failed.

Rothenbuhler was 15 of 33 passing for 195 yards and three touchdowns. Tyler Chamberlain caught touchdown passes of 15 and 11 yards for the Royals (3-2, 1-1 Suburban Lakes League).

Lakota's Austin McGown rushed for 114 yards on 27 carries. His one-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter sent the game to overtime.

Timmons threw for 154 yards on 14 of 28 passing for the

Raiders (2-3, 1-1).

PEMBERVILLE - Jason Faykosh completed 11 of 14 passes for 279 yards and three TDs and also scored on a nine-yard run to lead Eastwood (4-1, 2-0).

Pernell Conner finished with 129 yards on five carries, including an 88-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.

Matt Schlumbohm added 88 yards on three carries with a 75-yard TD run. Eastwood totaled 378 of its 701 total yards on the ground.

Sam Forshey led Otsego (1-4, 0-2) with 73 yards on 16 carries and was 9 of 24 for 85 yards passing.

The Knights had 198 total yards and one turnover.

ELMORE - Undefeated Genoa continued to roll by pounding out 428 rushing yards.

Blair Skilliter led the Comets (5-0, 2-0 SLL) with 149 yards rushing on 14 carries. He scored on runs of 10 and 13.

Marcus Vicars gained 82 yards on 11 attempts and scored on runs of 6 and 2.

Connor Wendt scored on a 24-yard run for Genoa, which got TD runs from Richard Wonnell (17 yards), Seth Dufendock (60), Alex Eckel (15) and Zach Lopez (10).

Woodmore's Michael Fahle scored the game's first TD on a 57-yard run and also tallied on a five-yard run. He finished with 49 yards rushing as the Wildcats fell to 1-4, 1-1.

MILLBURY - Tony Egbert rushed for three one-yard touchdowns and threw for a TD to lead Gibsonburg over Lake.

Avery Potridge ran for 91 yards on 17 carries and added two touchdowns (35, 2) for the Golden Bears (2-3, 1-1 SLL). Joey Morelock caught a TD pass of seven yards from Egbert.

Mike Mathews threw a 13-yard pass to Greg Grove for Lake (2-3, 0-2). Carl Brown led the Flyers with 59 yards on seven carries.
