Clay wins on Toth TD

Mike Toth scored the game-winning touchdown on a 93-yard kickoff return with 6:18 remaining as visiting Clay defeated Bowsher 35-28 last night in City League play.

Sheron Brown had just scored on an 11-yard run to give Bowsher (1-6, 1-3) a 28-27 lead before Toth scored.

Toth finished with 129 rushing yards on 21 carries with TD runs of 1 and 40.

Brown totaled 159 rushing yards on 18 carries and caught three passes for 123 yards, including TD receptions of 5 and 77 from Brian Shelton.

Drew Kuns was 16-of-23 passing for Clay (4-3, 2-2) with 176 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Visiting Central Catholic remained unbeaten when the contest was halted by officials with 1:44 to go in the third quarter.

Kyle Burkhardt kicked a 30-yard field goal for the Irish (7-0, 4-0) in the second quarter.

David Walender connected with Matt Cochell for a 70-yard TD pass after halftime for Central. Mike Marrow later scored on a one-yard run.

Walender was 5-of-9 passing for 192 yards. Cochell finished with four catches for 165 yards.

E.J. Tucker completed 9 of 15 passes for 94 yards for Rogers (2-5, 1-3). He also rushed for 108 yards on 23 carries.

St. Francis pulled away to a 31-0 lead before the Indians scored in the fourth quarter.

Five players scored for the Knights (4-3, 3-1), with the first TD coming from Scott Loy on an 85-yard interception return.

Noel Gerhart caught a two-yard TD pass from D.J. McPartland and Jarrod Horton hauled in a 13-yarder from Scott Schimmel, who also tallied on an 11-yard run. Joe

Joey Imm scored for Waite (1-6, 1-3) on a one-yard run and tossed a 23-yard TD pass to Frank-Cruz Padilla.
