Toth, Kuns lead Clay over Scott

Clay scored one touchdown in every quarter and added a safety to prevail 30-6 at home over Scott last night in the City League.

Mike Toth (148 yards on 25 carries) scored the Eagles' first two touchdowns on runs of 4 and 1 yards. Drew Kuns completed 8 of 18 passes for 150 yards and connected with Jeremy Jago for a 17-yard score in the third quarter. Jago caught four passes for 90 yards, and Tyler TenEyck added 58 catches on four grabs.

Kuns capped Clay's scoring with a 16-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Clay (5-3, 3-2) was awarded a safety when Scott botched a punt in the end zone.

Myron Carr scored Scott's only touchdown on a three-yard run in the fourth quarter. All of Carr's 43 yards on six carries came during the scoring drive. Phillip Bobo accounted for 62 yards on nine carries for Scott (2-6, 2-3).

Visiting St. John's jumped ahead 28-0 after one quarter and led 35-0 at the half.

Walt Anderson rushed for 57 yards, including a 39-yard TD scamper, to lead the Titans (5-3, 4-1). He also completed 2 of 3 passes for 23 yards, including a 16-yard TD pass to Zach Crosser.

St. John's backup quarterbacks Cheatham Norrils and Nick Angel also threw for one TD each.

Waite tallied its first score on Mike Thanasiu's 28-yard pass to Antoine Jackson in the fourth quarter. Antonio Spears would later tack on a 62-yard TD run for the Indians (1-7, 1-4).

Bowsher dominated Woodward, holding the Polar Bears (0-8. 0-5) to minus-15 yards on the ground at Bowsher.

Jerome Davis scored on a blocked punt for the game's first score and later ran for a 21-yard score. Sheron Brown led a balanced Rebel (2-6, 2-3) rushing attack with 47 yards and scores of nine and five yards. Leonard Brown also scored twice, the first on a 19-yard pass from Brian Shelton and the second on a 14-yard run.

Eric Dodd scored for the Bowsher defense on a 22-yard fumble return and Talen Patterson highlighted special teams play with a 42-yard punt return for a score.
