Girls basketball: Jones paces Central victory

Brianna Jones scored 22 points to lead Central Catholic to a 72-47 City League girls basketball victory over Bowsher last night. Emily Sifuentes and Sierra Calhoun added 12 points each for the visiting Irish.

Taye Carswell paced Bowsher with 22 points.

CLAY 75, LIBBEY 36

Clay placed four in double figures - Lauren Taylor 10, Lexi Laberdee 11, and Jessica Achter and Nicole Steinmetz 10 each. Mackeeta Allen led visiting Libbey with 17 and Jessica Williams had 10.

Notre Dame 53,

Rogers 42

Jasmine Blanton led the Eagles with 13 points, including six in the fourth quarter when Rogers was trying to rally. Ashley Okonta added 12. Jasmine Crosby sparked Rogers' rally and scored 12 points. Dominique Savage and Edeltha McGee each had 10 for the Rams.

SCOTT 57, ST. URSULA 48

Ashayla Yancey scored 14 points for the Bulldogs and Skyler Gregory and Recelon Wyse added eight apiece.

Hillary Lorton paced the Arrows with 14 points and Natalie Seeman contributed 12.

WHITMER 63,

WOODWARD 22

Laura Campbell poured in 25 points for the Panthers, including 10 in the decisive first quarter for Whitmer. April Anderson added 11 as 10 players got on the scoreboard.

Shenita Lane had 13 points for Woodward.
