Kralovic, Leahy pace Rossford boys

Rossford built a 42-28 halftime lead and then hung on at the end thanks to two free throws from Zach Leahy with 10 seconds remaining for a 69-67 boys basketball victory over Anthony Wayne last night.

Tommy Kralovic led the Bulldogs (2-0, 2-0 Northern Lakes League) with 27 points and Leahy added 23.

Kralovic included a 6-for-10 effort from 3-point range, part of Rossford s 9-of-20 showing beyond the arc.

Brad Celusta topped the visiting Generals (0-2, 0-2) with 21 points, Cam Walton had 16 points and Jake Childers added 13 for Anthony Wayne, which climbed back into the game with a 25-13 third-quarter rally.

PERRYSBURG 61,NORTHVIEW 46

David Hieber poured in 27 points as Perrysburg surged past Northview in the second half.

Charlie Hughes and Matt Marquette each had 12 points for the visiting Yellow Jackets (3-0, 2-0 NLL), who trailed 26-24 at halftime but outscored Northview 19-7 in the third quarter.

Perrysburg made 11-of-12 free throws to Northview s 2-of-7.

Tripper Northrup led the Wildcats (0-2, 0-2) with 12 points.

SPRINGFIELD 56, MAUMEE 13

At Springfield, Tyler Liber scored 17 points and Chester McFadden had 15 for the Blue Devils (2-1, 1-1 NLL).

Maumee falls to 0-2, 0-2.

OTSEGO 65, DELTA 57

TONTOGANY Matt Weisenborn scored 23 points and Tony Gerwin had 15 to lead Otsego (2-0).

Nate Jackson led Delta (0-2) with 20 points, Jordan Turner had 12 and Austin Gunn 11.

ST. WENDELIN 64,ELMWOOD 55

FOSTORIA Kevin Eibner paced the winning Mohawks (1-1) with 19 points and nine rebounds, Quinn Noel chipped in with 16 points and Brian Ward added 13. The Royals (0-1) were led by 16 points from Jacob Hamman, and Shannon Stewart and Tyler Chamberlain contributed 12 points apiece.

GENOA 64, OLD FORT 39

GENOA A 16-2 second quarter put the game in the win column for the Comets. Richard Wonnell led Genoa with 18 points and 16 rebounds. Jon Lester and Derek Dickinson added 10 points apiece.

Ethan Barker paced Old Fort with 12 points.

OAK HARBOR The Rockets got off to a fast start with a 21-4 first quarter and cruised behind 30 points from Brandon Wasserman. Steven Young added 12 points for Oak Harbor.

Chris Jacobson paced the Wildcats with 16 points and Grant Weirich added 14.

OTTAWA HILLS 68,GIBSONBURG 57

GIBSONBURG The Green Bears ran off with a 25-16 first-quarter edge to go to 2-0.

Phillip Beans scored 24, J.J. Buckey 17 and Eliot Browarsky 12 for Ottawa Hills.

Tony Egbert scored 24 points for Gibsonburg (1-1), while P.J. Bowen added 13 and Zak Smith 11.

EVERGREEN 45,TOLEDO CHRISTIAN 43

METAMORA The Eagles tied it with 33 seconds left, but Evergreen s Zac Oswald hit the game-winner at the buzzer inside off an inbounds pass to lift the Vikings to 2-0 on the season.

Brock Bates led Evergreen with 18 points and eight rebounds, and Chad Mossing added 17 points.

Jake Rightnowar topped Toledo Christian (0-1) with 15 points and Ethan Michael contributed 13 points and 11 boards.
