Taylor scores 28 as Titans fall on road

DETROIT - Detroit Jesuit outscored St. John's Jesuit 20-9 in the third quarter to pull away to an 87-75 victory last night.

Daniel Fields, the son of former Mud Hens manager Bruce Fields, finished with 18 points to lead four players in double figures for the Cubs, who improved to 2-1.

Michael Taylor scored a game-high 28 points to lead the Titans (3-2). Cheatham Norrils and Tim Kynard each had 13 while Tim Simmons added 10 for St. John's.

HATHAWAY BROWN 42

Start posted an 18-6 fourth quarter to hand Division II state-runner up Cleveland Hathaway Brown its second loss of the season at the Start Holiday Tournament.

Azia Bishop's 20 points, plus 16 from Yolanda Richardson and 13 from Maleeka Kynard paced 6-0 Start, which plays Detroit Country Day in the final at 7:30 tonight at Start.

Alexis Dobbs led the losing Blazers with 11 points.

NOTRE DAME 50, WHITMER 41

Notre Dame led by two going into the fourth quarter, and Demi Whitaker scored five of her team-leading 11 points as the Eagles surged in front.

Eight Notre Dame girls contributed as the Eagles upped their record to 3-3.

Laura Campbell scored 16 for the 3-4 Panthers and Samantha Swartz added 10.

SOUTHVIEW 60, BOWSHER 29

Tiffany Scott scored 15 points to lead a balanced attack from Southview, which had 10 players register at least one point.

The Cougars (5-2) led just 6-5 after one quarter but outscored Bowsher 46-13 in the next two periods in the rout.

Taylor Brown led the Rebels with 10 points.

Jasmine Crosby scored 19 points and Edeltha McGee added 13 as Rogers rolled by visiting Fremont Ross.

The Rams (4-3) led 15-6 after one quarter and 27-10 at the half.

Victoria Logan led the Little Giants with nine points.

BOWLING GREEN - Archbold scored 42 points in the first half on 50 percent shooting and Bowling Green shot 26 percent , with the game decided at halftime 42-26.

Archbold (5-1) was paced by Devin Newman with 12 points, and three teammates Alyssa Schaub, Hailey Galvan (9 rebounds), and Dani Leaser each had 11 points.

Stanisha Taylor led BG (3-4) with 19 counters and Jessica Sikula had 10 rebounds.

Swanton outscored Rossford 16-6 in the third quarter to pull out the road win.

Danielle Bezeau had a game-high 14 points and Paige Onweller added 13, including nine in the decisive third period, to lead Swanton (1-4).

Abbey Geraghty had 13 points to pace Rossford (0-6).

Brigitte Kuszmaul scored 20 points to lead Bryan (2-5) to the road victory.

Stacy Diegel led the Panthers (1-7) with eight points.

Delta outscored host Emmanuel Christian 6-4 in overtime to claim its first victory of the season

Kathleen Prezslawski finished with a game-high 19 points to lead the Panthers (1-8).

For the Warriors (0-6), Lacey Anagnostu had 18 points and Emily Loomis added 16, including a 3-pointer with less than 20 seconds left in regulation that tied the game.

TOLEDO CHRISTIAN 79, WOODWARD 17

Toledo Christian jumped ahead 22-3 after one quarter and 46-5 at halftime as five Eagles finished in double figures.

Kara Segler scored 17 points, Abbey Fox added 15, Lindsay Harder had 13, Bethanie Critchley netted 12 and Mary Ashbaucher 11 for the Eagles (3-3).

Woodward falls to 0-5.

Ashley Meyer scored a game-high 18 points and Anna Steffel added 10 for Tinora (5-1), while Samantha Seemann had 11 to lead the Patriots (2-4).

OLD FORT - The Golden Bears led by 10 points after one quarter and by 19 at halftime and cruised to an easy win.

Amy Richter had 14 points and Emily Clark added 13 for Gibsonburg, which improved to 4-3. Hailey Koeble and Brittany Stults finished with 18 and 17 for Old Fort (2-6).

NAPOLEON - Alexis Baird and Brittany Gibson scored 10 points apiece to pace Wauseon (5-1). Morgan Keeterle led Holgate (4-3) with 10 points.
