Southview sends Perrysburg to first loss

Southview handed Perrysburg its first loss of the season for the second year in a row, this time much earlier in the season.

The Cougars claimed a 60-55 home win last night in Northern Lakes League League boys basketball after trailing by two heading into the final quarter.

Tim Hausfeld led the Cougars (6-1, 5-0) with 26 points. Bernard Pinckney added 11.

David Hieber paced Perrysburg (5-1, 4-1) with 14 points. Charlie Hughes added 13 and Jake Smith 11 for the Yellow Jackets.

SPRINGFIELD 70,ANTHONY WAYNE 61

Tyler Lieber was 10-of-10 from the foul line in the fourth quarter to help Springfield hang on for the win.

Lieber finished the game 12-for-12 at the charity stripe and had 21 points. Chester McFadden and Glandoy Hill added 13 points apiece for the Blue Devils (4-2, 3-2 NLL).

Cam Walton scored 20 of his 23 points in the second half for the visiting Generals (0-6, 0-5), while Andrew Donnal had 17.

BOWLING GREEN 66,ROSSFORD 60

Bowling Green led by six at the half and held on for the road victory.

Patrick Graham led the Bobcats (3-3, 3-2) with 22 points. Xavier Brown added 19 and Chauncey Orr 17.

Zach Leahy led the Bulldogs (4-3, 3-2) with 20 points. Tommy Kralovic added 16 points and Jessie Hoover 11.

OTSEGO 71, LAKE 66

MILLBURY Otsego failed to hold its lead in regulation but made good in overtime to remain undefeated.

Matt Weisenborn led the Knights (4-0, 2-0 SLL) with 25 points, including ten from the free-throw line. Tony Gerwin added 13 points and Keith Riffner 12.

Nick Mikels paced Lake (1-3, 0-2) with 19 points. Alex Cordell added 16 for the Flyers.

Otsego went 25-of-39 from the line; Lake was 12-of-23.

GENOA 52, ELMWOOD 44

GENOA Genoa trailed 16-8 after the first quarter but rallied in the third quarter, outscoring Elmwood 19-8.

Richard Wannell led the Comets (3-1, 1-1) with 20 points. Matt Bassitt added 13.

Jay Hannah led the Royals (0-3, 0-2) with 11 points.

TIFFIN CALVERT 67,NORTHWOOD 65

Rush Arbogast scored the game-winning putback with 10 seconds left as Tiffin Calvert picked up the road win.

Northwood outscored the Senecas 22-14 in the fourth quarter to close the gap after trailing 37-26 at the half.

Landon Warnement led Calvert (4-3) with 25 points, while Adam Zahner had 10 and Arbogast finished with eight.

Ryan Canaday scored 22 points, Charles Artino added 19 and Chris Keith 17 for the Rangers (1-3).

TOLEDO CHRISTIAN 42,HOLGATE 27

Toledo Christian jumped out to a 13-4 lead and never looked back picking up the victory at home.

Ethan Michael led the Eagles (2-1) with 16 points and added 12 rebounds. Grant Sims had 10 points.

Logan Gonzales and Kyle Keeterle each scored 10 points to lead the Tigers.

DANBURY 57, OLD FORT 38

LAKESIDE Michael Hamann scored 16 points, and Hunter Stephens added 11 points and 10 rebounds as the Lakers (2-2) cruised past Old Fort (1-5).

Danbury made 20 of 39 foul shots to account for the winning margin.

Roman Ream had 11 and Ethan Baker 10 for the losing Stockaders.

CLEVELAND ST. IGNATIUS 49, FINDLAY 40

FINDLAY Luke Kraus scored 23 points in a losing effort for Findlay (4-1).

Dan Fox and Shonn Miller scored 14 points a piece to lead St. Ignatius (2-1).

PERRYSBURG 61, ST. URSULA 30

Perrysburg outscored host St. Ursula 20-6 in the opening quarter on its way to victory.

Demi Moschetti led the way for the Yellow Jackets (7-0) with 16 points. Kelsey Newman added 13 points.

Hillary Lorton paced St. Ursula (0-7) with 10 points.
