Southvew withstands test from Springfield

Tim Hausfeld was deadly from the outside, drilling five 3-pointers, as Southview downed feisty Springfield 53-42 Saturday night in Northern Lakes League boys basketball.

The Cougars improve to 10-1, 9-0 NLL.

The Blue Devils (5-5, 3-5) made a run at the Cougars in the third quarter behind LeRoy Alexander's 10 points, but Hausfeld countered for Southview with three straight 3-pointers in the quarter.

Hausfeld finished with a game-high 22 points. Alexander paced Springfield with 18.

ANTHONY WAYNE 53, MAUMEE 43

The visiting Generals outlasted the Panthers by outscoring the home team 10-0 in the second overtime.

Anthony Wayne's Brad Celusta nailed a 3-pointer with a second left in regulation to send the game into overtime.

Cam Walton led the Generals (3-8, 2-6 NLL) with 15 points. Celusta chipped in with eight.

Jay Hall and Jon Hall scored 12 points apiece to lead Maumee (1-9, 1-7).

PERRYSBURG 57,

Charlie Hughes scored a team-high 23 points to lead the visiting Yellow Jackets.

Jake Smith finished with 13 points and David Hieber added 12 points for Perrysburg .

Tommy Kralovic poured in a game-high 30 points, including five 3-pointers, to keep the Bulldogs in contention. Zach Leahy added 12 points for Rossford.

BOWLING GREEN 50,

NORTHVIEW 41

BOWLING GREEN - Patrick Graham hit five of seven 3-pointers and finished with 24 points to lead Bowling Green.

Chauncey Orr added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Bobcats (6-6, 6-2 NLL), while Xavier Brown chipped in with 12 points.

Northview (3-8, 2-6) got 17 points from Tripper Northrup and 16 from Stephan Vizina.

ROGERS 71, CELINA 58

CELINA - Damon Powell scored a game-high 23 points and Traymone Camak added 22 points to lead the Rams.

The Rams (8-1) outscored Celina 40-27 in the first half.

Jake Green led Celina with 16 points. Derek Gagle and Darin Waterman added 13 and 12 points, respectively.

FINDLAY 51, ST. FRANCIS 47

Luke Kraus pumped in 11 of his game-high 24 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Trojans past the Knights.

Brock Ammons scored 12 points for Findlay (6-4), which trailed the Knights by five points with three minutes left in the contest.

Three straight turnovers down the stretch for St. Francis (5-3) allowed Findlay to rally back and take the lead for good.

Brody Henry paced the Knights with 14 points while Storm Stanley added 13 points and a team-high 11 rebounds.

CANTON MCKINLEY 56,

McKinley outscored Libbey 19-13 in the final period to escape with the road win.

Maurice Taylor scored a team-high 16 points for the Cowboys (2-4).

EASTWOOD 63, OTSEGO 39

TONTOGANY - The Eagles moved to 5-0 in the Suburban Lakes League and 7-1 overall with an easy road victory.

Jason Faykosh drilled four 3-pointers en route to a game-high 20 points. Teammates Clayton Ruch and Clay Rolf joined him in double figures. Rolf also hauled down 16 rebounds.

R.J. Hefflinger tallied 12 points for the Knights (5-3, 3-3), including a pair of 3-pointers.

GENOA 53, LAKE 33

GENOA - Jon Lester tallied 19 points to help the Comets top Lake in SLL play.

Josh Palmer and Richard Wonnell each had 13 points for Genoa (6-2, 4-1), with Wonnell grabbing 10 rebounds.

Ahmed Ismail had seven points for Lake (2-7, 0-5).

GIBSONBURG - The Royals were 20-of-25 from the free- throw line, including 10-of-13 in the fourth quarter.

Elmwood (4-3, 3-2 SLL) was paced by Adam Tyson's 19 points. Michael Huether and Tyler Chamberlain each had 14.

Gibsonburg (3-4, 2-2) finished 16-of-27 from the line. T.J. Bowen had a game-high 25 points and Tony Egbert added 16 for the Golden Bears.

WOODMORE 55, LAKOTA 41

ELMORE - Pierce Fonseca had scored 11 points and Grant Weirich added 11 to lead Woodmore.

Scott Hoffman had 13 points for the Raiders.

ANTWERP 47, STRITCH 29

The visiting Archers raced out to a big lead and never looked back.

T.J. Short led Antwerp (8-0) with 17 points and Adam Taylor was right behind him with 16.

Justin Staler led Cardinal Stritch (5-4) with 11 points.

EVERGREEN 69, EDON 59

METAMORA - The Vikings' Chad Mossing led all scorers with 23 points.

Brock Bates scored 19 and Zak Oswald had 10 points and nine rebounds for Evergreen (8-1).

Edon (3-6) was led by Brant Thiel's 15 points. Jake Wells and Jake Brown each scored 11 and Alex Sonneberger added 10.

HOLGATE - The Tigers (1-9) got their first win of the season as Kyle Keeterle scored a game-high 17 points and Logan Gonzales had 10.

Liberty Center (0-8) was led by Logan Burdue's 10 points.

NAPOLEON 52, BRYAN 38

BRYAN - Kyle Niemann and Joel Hunter combined for 33 points to lead the Wildcats.

Niemann poured in a team-high 17 points and Hunter chipped in 16 points for Napoleon.

Matt Jones led Bryan with a game-high 19 points while Matt Wisler added 10 points.

HAMLER - Aaron Craft scored 17 of his game-high 26 points before halftime to lead the way for the Eagles.

Brett Pasche and Dereck Recker finished with 11 points apiece for Liberty-Benton.

Brandon Kerr finished with eight points to lead the Patriots.

FAYETTE - Shelby Franks scored nine of his game-high 17 points in the final period to lead the Eagles.

Ben Adams paced Edgerton with a 13 points, while Bronson Knecht and Ethan Schroeder added 11 points each.
