Whiteford wins thriller on Donnelly's TD catch

ADRIAN, Mich. - Cody Donnelly caught a 19-yard pass from Travis Pant as time expired to lead Whiteford to a thrilling 46-43 win over Adrian Madison Friday night.

The Bobcats scored twice in the final 1:49, with Donnelly making the game-winning catch while lying on his back, to claim the win in a back-and-forth game.

Donnelly also had touchdown runs of 59, 3, and 2 yards and finished with 114 rushing yards on 14 carries.

Pant completed 17 of 27 passes for 263 yards and four TDs, connecting with Jake DuPree on 24 and 7-yard scoring strikes. DuPree finished with seven catches for 146 yards.

Pant also threw a 2-yard touchdown toss to Brandon Albright.

Whiteford needed all that scoring to overcome the fine rushing game by Madison's Nick Amador, who ran for 278 yards and six touchdowns on 32 rushes.

Bedford 28, Ann Arbor Huron 21

TEMPERANCE - Zach Messer returned an interception 45 yards to give Bedford a 14-point lead with 2:43 left in the game.

Messer opened the fourth quarter with a one-yard TD run to break a 14-14 tie, and Jared Kujawa later scored his second TD run from two yards.

Kujawa, who scored the game's first TD on an 11-yard run, finished with 44 yards on 16 carries.

Erik Jones led Bedford (2-1) in rushing with 132 yards on 20 attempts.

Ann Arbor Huron is 1-2.

Ida 35, Erie Mason 0

IDA, Mich. - Two special teams miscues by Erie Mason turned a scoreless game at halftime into a rout.

On its first two posessions of the second half, Erie Mason (0-3) had a punt blocked and a snap go over its punter's head. Ida (2-1) followed those gaffes with touchdown runs of 12 and 1 yards.

Paul Galloro and Brian Walters each had two rushing TDs for Ida.

Blissfield 50, Dundee 20

DUNDEE, Mich. - Cody Spotts tossed three touchdown passes for Blissfield.

Spotts, who completed 8 of 10 passes for 133 yards, threw first-half TDs to Dylan Esterline of 6 and 21 yards. Spotts connected with Kyle Westfall from 28 yards out in the third quarter.

John McEwan, who capped the game with a five-yard TD run, led Blissfield (3-0) with 80 yards on seven attempts.

Austin Powell kicked a 36-yard field goal for Blissfield. Dundee falls to 1-2.
