Edsel Ford scores late to slip past Bedford

DEARBORN, Mich. - Dearborn Edsel Ford broke a 7-7 halftime deadlock with two third-quarter touchdowns to get past Bedford 28-21 last night.

Edsel Ford running back Kevin King had a blockbuster evening, lugging the ball 34 times for 199 yards and three scores, two on 1 and 15-yard runs and another on a 37-yard pass from quarterback Hassan Ayoub.

Jared Kujawa and Zach Messer keyed a potent Mules rushing game, with Kujawa gaining 127 yards on 14 attempts and Messer contributing 57 yards on eight carries and scoring runs of 6 and 39 yards.

Bedford quarterback Kujawa passed for 95 yards and tossed a 71-yard touchdown completion to Troy Przybylek to conclude the Mules' scoring.

Bedford's David Digby led Bedford's defensive effort with 13 tackles.

Bedford drops to 4-2 on the season. Edsel Ford is 5-1.

OTTAWA LAKE, Mich. - The Bobcats piled up 21 points in the second quarter for an easy Tri-County Conference victory.

After Jake DuPree hauled in a 25-yard pass from Travis Pant to give Whiteford (4-2, 3-1 TCC) a first-quarter lead, the Bobcats put the game away in the second, starting with Kody Baker's 14-yard touchdown run. Three minutes later, Baker scored again from 14 yards out.

Pant, who was 9-of-12 passing for 143 yards, scored on a 19-yard run to make it 28-0 at the half.

DuPree took the second-half kickoff and returned it 78 yards for a touchdown. Later in the third quarter, he scored on a 60-yard run.

Britton-Deerfield (2-4, 0-4) was held to 129 yards of offense.
