Schwerer piles up 5 TDs for Generals

Jordan Schwerer ran wild for the Generals, scoring five touchdowns in the first half as Anthony Wayne defeated Bowling Green 44-6 last night in the Northern Lakes League.

Schwerer finished with 129 yards rushing on 13 carries, scoring on runs of 4, 35, 21, 3, and 3 yards for Anthony Wayne (4-2, 2-1). Mike Bridges added a one-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, and Matt Green rushed for 126 yards on 12 carries for the Generals.

Bowling Green's Mike Stoner broke away for a 53-yard touchdown run for the Bobcats (1-5, 1-2).

Northview 14, Springfield 7

Northview quarterback Ryan Kremchek's passing game got the better of Springfield in a contest marred by five Blue Devil fumbles, three of which they lost.

Kremchek, who was

11-for-26 through the air for 71 yards, connected with Tyler James on a 13-yard TD. He later threw to A.J. Mehling on a one-yard score.

Springfield (2-4, 1-2) scored in the opening quarter on a 15-yard run by Alex Grogg. Grogg had 12 carries for 88 yards.

The Wildcats (3-3, 2-1) were paced by Torrence Garland, who carried 18 times for 97 yards. Northview had 235 total yards to 174 for Springfield.

Maumee 42, Rossford 20

The Panthers roared to a 42-0 first-half edge as quarterback Jake Goatley had another big night.

Goatley was 7-for-8 for 183 yards and four touchdowns, all in the opening half.

He completed scoring strikes of 15 and 29 yards to Damon Contat, 58 yards to Jon Hall and 37 yards to Erik Studyvin.

Eric Long scored twice and piled up 94 yards rushing for the Panthers (5-1, 2-1 NLL).

The Bulldogs (0-6, 0-3) scored all their points in the second half, paced by two touchdowns from Alex Johannsen and one from Josh Gray.

Maumee outgained Rossford in total yardage, 387 to 261.
