Basketball: Anthony Wayne edges Northview

Anthony Wayne placed three players in double figures to capture the close home victory 50-49 over Northview.

Brad Celusta led the way with 18 points for the Generals (1-8, 1-5 NLL) while Jake Conklin added 12 and Mark Donnal 10.

Jake Zureich scored a game-high 21 points for the Wildcats (1-8, 1-5) and Jacob Sturt provided 14.

Unbeaten Central Catholic romped to its sixth straight victory. Drew Lehman led the Irish at home with 13 points and Ben Dent had 12. Richard Wonnell led Genoa and all scorers with 15. Mack Bassitt added 11.

MILLBURY - Otsego broke out to a 12-3 first-quarter lead to advance to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in the Surburban Lakes League.

Tony Gerwin paced the Knights with 16 points while A.C. Limes added 14.

Alex Cordell led the Flyers (2-5, 0-2) with 14 points.

At Maumee, Matt Marquette paced the Yellow Jackets (7-1 overall, 5-0 NLL) with 11 points.

Perrysburg sprinted out to a 19-8 first-quarter lead.

Damon Contat and Jordan Lane each scored 10 for the Panthers (1-7, 0-5).

FREMONT - Cody Pelton drove the length of the court and hit the game-winning shot on a layup at the buzzer.

Pelton also scored 19 points for North Baltimore (5-3, 2-1). Matt Archer had 11 and Jeremy Grant and Chris Casey scored 10 apiece.

BLOOMDALE - Elmwood made 8 of 13 3-pointers.

Adam Tyson led the Royals (2-5, 2-1) with 15 points and three 3s, and Reid Rothenbuhler knocked down two 3s and finished with 13 points.

Maumee Valley Country Day took a commanding 32-14 lead at the end of the first half at Emmanuel Christian. Jared Sturt's 12 points led the balanced MVCD (4-4, 1-2 TAC) attack. Julius Turner led EC (3-5, 1-3) and all scorers with 18 points

LAKESIDE - Rodney Johnson led all scorers with 18 points for the Lakers (6-2, 3-2).

Hunter Stephens scored 10 points and had 10 rebounds for Danbury. Steven Feyedelem added 11 points for the Lakers.

Down 10 points at halftime 37-27 Bowling Green came roaring back in the second half and finished with a 22-13 fourth-quarter advantage. Chauncey Orr scored 23-points and Tony Dieble had 13-points. Xavier Brown had 14 for the Bobcats.

ELMORE - Four Golden Bears scored in double digits to lead Gibsonburg over Woodmore in SLL play.

Gage Beaber was the leading scorer with 20 points and four assists for Gibsonburg (3-3, 1-1). But Zac Smith (17 points), Lee Renner (13 points), and Logan Jones (12 points) offered plenty of support.

Grant Wierich recorded a double-double for the Wildcats (2-6, 0-6) with 20 points and 11 boards.

ARCHBOLD - Continental held off a run late in the fourth quarter by the pesky Blue Streaks (3-3) to remain unbeaten.

Chase Ordway led the Pirates (8-0) with 13 points, while John Spitnale chipped in 12.

Garrett Morton and Collin Walker lead Archbold with 11 points each.

WHITEFORD - Brandon Albright poured in a game-high 27 points for Whiteford (3-2).

Jake DuPree scored 12 and Chris Roberts and Forrest Grosteffon each added 10.

Southviw topped Rossford in overtime to earn a win.

Andy Borcherdt scored 15 for Southview while Thomas Stritchter and Cam O'Reilly had 13 and Allen Gant had 10.

Zach Leahy had 21 for Rossford with Mitchell Stewart adding 19.

WEST UNITY - Lauren Langenderfer scored 19 points and Kenzie Pinkelman added 18 as Evergreen improved to 4-3.

Paige Robertson added 13 points for the Vikings, who led 36-15 at halftime.

DEFIANCE - Tinora held Liberty Center to single-digit points in every quarter.

TEMPERANCE - Bedford was able to hold Southfield (5-2) to only two points in the first quarter but couldn't hold on, being outscored 37-25 in the second half.

PETTISVILLE - Morgan Ketterle and Hannah Stevens each scored 11 points to lead Holgate over Pettisville (5-4).
