Central Catholic edges Scott in OT

Tony Mays hit six free throws in the extra period as Central Catholic outscored Scott 14-11 in overtime to win 50-47. Drew Lehman led CC with 14 points, and Marty McDonald and Nate Hobbs followed with 13 and 11, respectively.

Scott was paced by Donovan McClain (11 points) and Mike Jones (10).

WAITE 66, CLAY 52

Dishon Haris scored 18 points, Antonio Allen had 16 points and 10 rebounds, Ke-Sean Harris scored 10 points and 10 assists for Waite (9-8, 5-5 CL) at home. Stefan Gaskins scored 15 points and Austin Achter had 13 for Clay (3-13, 1-9)

BOWSHER 78, START 73

In the battle of two of the city's top scorers, Start's Anthony Henderson scored 37 points and Bowsher's Robert Davis had 29. Jeff Copeland added 15 for Start, but Bowsher (7-8, 4-6) had three more in double figures: Eric Daniels with 17, Austin Boisselle with 13, and Troy Huebner with 10.

SWANTON 62, CARDINAL STRITCH 33

SWANTON –– Ryan Johnson had 26 points to lead the Bulldogs. Matt Guy had 15 for the Cardinals.

Maumee Valley 57, Danbury 37

Maumee Valley behind Jared Sturt's 15 points.

Carter Bayer and Dixon Stoddard each added 10 for the winners (11-6 , 6-4).

Vincent Manuella led Danbury (9-7, 5-5) with 13 while Hunter Stephen chipped in with 11.

GENOA 73, WOODMORE 62

GENOA — Jon Lester led the Comets with 29 points in a Suburban Lakes League win. Lester added 15 rebounds while Richard Wonnell had 15 points and 11 rebounds and Matt Bassitt had 13 points for Genoa (11-6, 6-4).

Justin Garver scored 19 points for Woodmore (4-13, 1-10) while Grant Weirich had 13 points and Andy Flick scored 11.

GIBSONBURG 56, LAKE 39

MILLBURY — Gage Beaber scored 13 points and Logan Jones chipped in 12 for the Golden Bears (7-9, 4-6).

The Flyers (3-14, 1-9) received eight points a piece from Josh Tantari and Joe Vancena.

ROGERS 88, WOODWARD 69

Damond Powell netted 27 points, J.R. Rayford 18, and Glandoy Hill 13 as the Rams (12-5, 6-4 City League) breezed past the visiting Polar Bears.

Ray Hooker tallied a game-high 33 points for the Polar Bears (1-11, 0-12), while Brandon Wyatt chipped in with 16.

WHITEFORD 77, BRITTON-DEERFIELD 51

DEERFIELD, Mich. — Travis Pant set a school-record with nine 3-pointers, hitting four last night and five on Jan. 15 when the game was postponed after one half because of condensation on the playing floor.

Jake DuPree added 16 points for Whiteford (11-5), and Brandon Albright and Forrest Grosteffon each contributed 10.

MONCLOVA 74, APOSTOLIC 56

Jordan McCloud scored 22 points to lead Monclova Christian past Apostolic Christian. Zach Black added 14 points for the Thunder while Cody Harris had 13 and Kenny N'Douba had 11.

Jimmie Jordan scored 19 for Apostolic while Josh Guziolek had 14.

OTSEGO 56, ELMWOOD 34

TONTOGANY — Ryan Smoyer scored 22 points, A.C. Limes had 14 for Otsego (10-7, 9-2 SLL). .

BEDFORD 62, TECUMSEH 50

TEMPERANCE — Jackson Lamb and Matt Lazette each scored 21 points while Tyler Shock added 12 for the Mules (8-7).

Jacob Moore led Tecumseh with 18 points.
