4 area girls, 1 boy place at D-II diving meet

CANTON — Four area girls and one boy placed in the Division II state diving tournament Thursday at Branin Natatorium.

In the girls' competition, Wauseon's Kendall Weber and Lacy Mynhier finished in ninth and 10th place. The sophomores posted 11-dive scores of 363.15 and 317.70, respectively.

Lake's Samantha TenEyck finished 11th with a score of 295.45, while Rebecca Borton of Napoleon took 12th with a 292.15.

On the boys' side, Napoleon senior Kyle Rex placed 11th with 286.80.

Bay senior Nikki Craft defended her state title, winning with a 449.90 total, while senior Jamie Englhardt of Chagrin Falls set a meet record with a 488.10 score to win the boys title.
