Southview surges past Notre Dame in girls sectionals

Southview outscored Notre Dame 12-8 in the fourth quarter to claim a 41-38 victory in the

Division I girls basketball sectional final Saturday at Clay.

Taylor Hall scored 12 points and freshman Lexi Lopez added 10 for the Cougars (18-3).

Cat Wells finished with 19 points to lead Notre Dame (15-5).

The Spartans jumped out to a 25-5 lead after the first quarter and cruised to the win at Clay.

Maleeka Kynard scored 16 points and Charon Sweeney had 11 to lead Start (17-4).

April Anderson finished with 11 for the Panthers (8-12).

TONTOGANY - The Yellow Jackets rolled to an early 17-4 lead and were never challenged.

Erin Mesker scored 20 for Perrysburg (15-6).

Emma Ricketts had 21 for the Generals (8-14).

TONTOGANY - Danielle Sallisbury scored 17 and Megan Lammers added 11 to lead the Trojans to the win.

Danesha Brown finished with 11 for the Blue Devils.

The Indians' postseason run continued as Shanice McNeal scored 18 points and Natasha Howard had 14 to lead Waite (19-2) to a win at Central Catholic.

Miriah Haynes had 12 for Waite and Fantasia Combs scored 10.

Megan Agoston had 11 for Clay (11-10).

Olivia Fouty had 16 points to lift the Wildcats past the Rebels at Central Catholic. Miriam Justinger had 12 points for Northview.

Ciara Hudson led Bowsher with 11 points.

SWANTON -- Chelsea Ludeman scored 16 and McKenzie Myles added 12 for the Wildcats.

Bronwen Phillips paced Bryan with 19 points.

SWANTON -- Alexis Pierce scored 23 points and Chloe Stiriz added 12 for the Indians.

Iesha Pernell led the Bulldogs with 20.

DEFIANCE -- With five seconds left and the score tied, Kendra McCann made two free throws for the Rams (20-2). Kenzie Pinkelman was fouled and would only make one for the Vikings (17-4).

McCann had 15 points and Anna Steffel 11 for the Rams.

Lauren Langenderfer had 26 and Pinkelman 11 for the Vikings.

BOWLING GREEN -- Baley Bernthisel had 21 points and Jamie Limes and Ashley Holzwart added 14 each for the Knights.

Aja Hall poured in 34 for the Redmen. Veronica Wonderly chipped in 12.

Lake held the Comets to two points in the first half. Kaysie Brittenham had 21 points for the Flyers (21-0) at Bowsher.

Julie Swartzmiller had 10 for Genoa (15-7).

A trio of players reached double digits for the Green Bears to beat Rossford at Bowsher.

Cimone Reid had 18 points for Ottawa Hills (19-2) while Katherine Jamieson had 14 and Lauren Abendroth notched 11.

Abbey Geraghty had 13 points for Rossford (7-15).

BOWLING GREEN - The Eagles outscored Lakota 18-0 in the first quarter and never looked back.

Caite Craft finished with 28 for Liberty-Benton (21-0) while Amanda Hyde had 19, Amber Peterson 12, and Catelyn Ramsey 11.

Amy Gosche had 7 for Lakota.

FINDLAY - Hannah Bundy scored 17 points and Shelby Wilson chipped in with 11 to lead the Panthers.

Chelsi Faine led the Black Knights with 25 points while Madi Coldren netted 11.

FINDLAY - Mackenzie Heacock netted 22 points, Amelia Recker 16, and Jordan Drerup 15 to lead the Red Devils.

Jessica Frost and Brittany Tellez each scored seven points to lead the Tigers.
