Weemes tallies 23 points at TC slips by Bettsville

MILLBURY - Jeremy Weemes scored 23 points as Toledo Christian escaped with a 46-44 win over Bettsville last night for a Division IV boys basketball sectional championship at Lake.

Weemes was the lone scorer in double figures for the Eagles

(12-9), who trailed 20-18 at halftime.

Tyler Harrison had 22 points for Bettsville (11-10).

MILLBURY - Eliot Browarsky dropped in 20 points, Lucas Janowicz added 16 and J.J. Buckey 13 for Ottawa Hills (20-1), which pulled away by outscoring the Rangers 27-8 in the second quarter.

Rickey Hartley led Northwood (7-15) with 12 points.

PORT CLINTON - The Lakers mounted a furious 19-9 rally in the fourth quarter, but could not catch the Eagles.

Ryan Staver led Monroeville (11-11) with 20 points and Ryan Dragon had 11.

Vincent Manuella had 19 points for Danbury (10-11) while Hunter Stephens had 13 and Lucas Kennedy scored 11.

OTTAWA -- The Wildcats (18-4) were led by Kyle Niese with 18 points and Rusty Lammers with 13. Miller City held a 34-15 rebounding edge.

Mason Roth had 12 for the Panthers (16-4).
