Ottawa Hills senior second in vault; Perrysburg's Williams top 10

Ottawa Hills senior Karla Dixon vaults at the state meet. Dixon was runner-up in the event for the second straight year.

HILLIARD - For the second straight year, Karla Dixon of Ottawa Hills finished runner-up in the vault at the state gymnastics meet, while Chelsea Williams of Perrysburg tied for third in the event at Hilliard Bradley High School.

Williams finished 10th in the all-around competition by placing in the top 10 in three events.

Dixon, a senior, scored 9.45 to finish second to Leah Miko (9.575) of Brecksville-Broadview Heights, which won the team competition. Williams, a sophomore, had a 9.4. Kinsey Smith (9.25) of Archbold was eighth, Napoleon's Kendall Homan (9.2) placed 11th and Northview's Megan Matrisciano (9.175) was 12th.

Williams and Smith tied for ninth on the parallel bars at 9.025, while Williams also placed eighth in the floor exercise (9.225) to finish 10th in the all-around competition (36.1).

Archbold's Smith was 11th on floor (9.2), Napoleon's Riley Dunbar was 11th on beam (8.875).

Napoleon placed sixth, while Perrysburg was 12th of the 12 teams.
