Natasha Howard, Waite High School's dominating 6-foot-3 power forward, was selected as 2010 Ohio's Ms. Basketball on Wednesday, becoming the first player from Toledo to be named to the prestigious honor by the Associated Press.
Howard is averaging 23.6 points, 11 rebounds, and four steals per game for the Indians (23-2).
Earlier in the week, Howard was named the Division. I player of the year. The Indians, coached by Manny May, are playing in the Division I state semfinal on Friday night against
Kettering Fairmount (22-2) at 6 p.m. at Value City Arena in Columbus.
Howard plans to attend Florida State on a basketball scholarship.
