Bedford boys 7th at state cross country meet

BROOKLYN, Mich. — The Bedford boys placed seventh at Saturday's Michigan Division 1 High School state cross country meet held at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.

Seniors Nick Kaiser and Dan Thompson paced the Kicking Mules individually as Bedford scored 282 points in the team competition. Kaiser ran the 5,000-meter course in 15:31.8 to place third overall, and Thompson ran a 15:51.8 to finish 23rd.

The other Bedford scorers were junior Adam Horace (56th, 16:17.8), senior Cory Schoendorf (86th, 16:37.9), and senior Jacob Nye (114th, 16:55.3).

Detroit Catholic Central won the team championship with 103 points, and Dexter was runner-up at 114. The individual champion was Scott Albaugh of Waterford Mott (15:13.9), and the runner-up was Omar Kaddurah of Grand Blanc (15:30.9).
