BOYS ROUNDUP: Pinckney's shot lifts Cougars over Panthers

Denard Pinckney made a 16-foot jumper at the buzzer with two players guarding him to lift the Cougars to a Northern Lakes League boys basketball victory over Maumee on Saturday.
For Southview (6-4, 5-2), Joey Vermilya had 15 points, Pinckney 13 and David Renner 11. Maumee (5-6, 6-6 NLL) was led by Shawn Flanagan with 18, and Dominique King added 10.
BOWLING GREEN 74, ANTHONY WAYNE 41
Xavier Brown poured in 25 points as Bowling Green rolled. Chauncey Orr netted 22 and Tyler Dunn added 11 for the Bobcats (9-2, 7-0 NLL). Mark Donnal and Andrew Fox each had 10 for the Generals (3-8, 2-6).
SPRINGFIELD 56, PERRYSBURG 39
Springfield handed the Yellow Jackets their second NLL loss.
Leroy Alexander had 19 points, Jeremy Weemes 14, and Quinton Green 11 points for Springfield (6-4, 4-3 NLL). Kevin Schenk led Perrysburg (7-5, 6-2) with 15 points.

The Wildcats (2-8, 1-6) got their first NLL victory as James Racicot tallied 14 points.
Brandon Hall and Jacob Sturt each had 13 and Casey Schaffer and Denzel Wheaton each tallied 12.
For the Bulldogs (3-9, 1-7) Larry Sloan had 17, Drew Brock 12 and Josh Perry 11.
MONCLOVA CHRISTIAN 53, WOODWARD 43
Kenny D'Douba scored 22 points and Kyle Hester added 13 for Monclova Christian (5-4). Jalen Wells had 15 points for Woodward (2-7).

Damond Powell pumped in 18 points to lead the Rams.
Clemmye Owens added 14 points and Glendoy Hill scored 12.
Elijah Macon scored 22 points for Franklin, while Nate Spears and Terrence Ayers added 17 and 10 points, respectively.

BRYAN — Jordan Lauf scored a team-high 19 points to lead the Wildcats to victory. Ross Huber added 11 points. Aaron Broot paced Bryan with a game-high 21 points.

David Westmeyer scored a layup with three seconds left to lift TC to victory. Josh Whitlow paced TC with a team-high 12 points.Cody Jennings led Eastwood with 12 points while Caleb Vespi added 11 and Forest Ickes 10.

Luke Sutter paced the Comets with a game-high 16 points.
Justin Staler led Stritch with 14 points.

FAYETTE — Tyler Keefer scored 24 points as Fayette held off Edgerton. Ben Reihle and Brody Flagle each had nine points for Edgerton.

SWANTON — Garrett Michalkiwicz paced the Bulldogs with 28 points, and Travis Hilton and Shane Bloom chipped in with 19 and 12 points, respectively. Kurt McKee and Ryan Kohlhofer each scored 10 points for Lake.

STRYKER — Stryker took a six-point lead after one quarter and managed to hold on for the narrow victory. T.J. Fonseca led Stryker with 15 points. Keagon Hartsock had 14 for Montpelier.

FINDLAY — Grant Birchmeier drained four 3-pointers en route to scoring a team-high 16 points to lead the Trojans. C.J. Gettys also finished with 16 points, while Brock Ammons added 12.
Travis Schomaeker scored 14 points and Landon Pothast added 12 for O-G.

Andrew Jamieson scored 14 points, Lucas Janowicz and J.J. Buckey had 12 points each for Ottawa Hills. Nathan Schalk led Stryker with six points

HOLGATE — Holgate scored five points in each of the first three quarters and held Liberty Center scoreless in the third quarter in the defensive battle.
Ryan Aelker led Holgate (6-5) with 10 points, Phil Snow had seven points for Liberty Center (4-6).
HOPEWELL-LOUDON 53, GIBSONBURG 48
BASCOM — Alec Gregg and Tyler Tyree provided 16 points apiece to lead the way to victory. Logan Jones scored a game-high 19 points in a losing effort.
