BOYS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Danbury wins suspended game against Emmanuel Christian

DANBURY 54, EMMANUEL CHRISTIAN 46

Danbury's Hunter Stephens scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Lakers (4-8, 2-4)downed Emmanuel Christian in the completion of a game suspended at halftime on Jan. 8 on the Warriors' homecourt. A Sylvania Township police cruiser struck a utility pole on Whiteford Road, causing a power outage that night. Danbury led 23-20.

Stephens' teammate Dakota Hruby tallied 10 points last night. The Warriors (6-7, 2-4)were paced by Ryan Creech's 15 points; Tony Behan had 11. Danbury held the edge in rebounds 30-23. Both teams played Tuesday night, with Emmanuel Christian winning on Jason Regnier's 3-point buzzer beater 47-44.

OTTAWA HILLS 42, CARDINAL STRITCH 22

The host Green Bears rolled to a 12-3 advantage in the first quarter and cruised to the win.

Lucas Janowicz finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds for Ottawa Hills, which improved to 12-1 overall and 6-1 in the Toledo Area Athletic Conference, while Andrew Jamieson added 12 points.

Sophomores Joey Cousino and Rob Bekier each had five points to lead the Cardinals (2-12, 1-7).

WOODMORE 54, OTSEGO 49

TONTOGANY -- Excellent foul shooting provided the Wildcats with the road victory.

Woodmore converted 9-of-10 foul shots in the fourth quarter and 15-of-17 for the game as it climbed to 8-5 overall and 5-2 in the Suburban Lakes League.

Donny Bowen paced the Wildcats with 24 points while Grant Weirich added 13.

Ryan Smoyer totaled 24 points for the Knights (3-10, 2-5) and A.C. Limes chipped in with 11.

EASTWOOD 54, GENOA 38

PEMBERVILLE -- Brothers Justin and Jake Faykosh combined for 29 points to lead the Eagles to the home win.

Jake, a junior, finished with a game-high 16 while Justin, a senior, added 13 to lead Eastwood (4-7, 4-3 SLL).

Eric Schimming scored 13 for Genoa (4-7, 1-6).
