GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Archbold tops Wauseon in battle for NWOAL lead

ARCHBOLD 54, WAUSEON 44

ARCHBOLD -- The host Blue Streaks rolled to a 19-7 advantage after one quarter and held on to maintain its hold on first place in the Northwest Ohio Athletic League.

Alicia Drewes finished with 23 points to lead Archbold (13-3, 6-1), while Bailey Creager scored 12 and Alyssa Reed 11 for the Indians (9-6, 4-2).

ANTHONY WAYNE 56, SPRINGFIELD 31

The host Generals rolled to early leads of 16-6 after one quarter and 31-13 at the half and cruised to the Northern Lakes League win.

Emma Ricketts had 14 points while Aubrie Kreft added 12 for Anthony Wayne (9-4, 6-3 NLL).

Erin Delaney scored 12 to lead the Blue Devils (3-11, 1-7).

NAPOLEON 60, FINDLAY 48

NAPOLEON -- The host Wildcats outscored Findlay 18-10 in the third quarter to remain unbeaten in Greater Buckeye Conference play.

Megan Zachrich scored seven of her 15 points in that decisive period while McKenzie Myles also had 15 for Napoleon (12-2, 7-0).

Holly Barton had 13 and Danielle Sallisbury 12 for the Trojans (9-6, 5-2).

EVERGREEN 48, SWANTON 33

Taylor Babcock led Evergreen (12-, 5-1 NWOAL) over Swanton (4-12, 1-6) with 12 points, getting 11 points each from Lauren Langenderfer and Paige Robertson; Ingrid Oswald scored 10. Swanton was paced by Bethann Lumbrezer's 12 points.

MONCLOVA CHRISTIAN 35, LIMA TEMPLE CHRISTIAN 21

The host Thunder got 11 points from Elizabeth Keiser and nine from Ashley Dibert to claim the road win.

Lindsey Wafzig scored 14 for Lima Temple Christian.

FAYETTE 30, EDON 29

EDON -- A 3-point-shot in the waning seconds by Melani Seiler made the difference as Fayette (4-10, 2-5) downed Edon (9-6, 5-2) in a Buckeye Border Conference contest. The visiting Eagles were led by Mikayla Smith's 12 points. Sydney Stoll led the Blue Bombers with 10 points. Fayette went into the half leading 17-10.
