Southview girls basketball coach Todd Bostater has resigned from that position.

Bostater, who had been part of the Cougars’ program for 15 years, was the head coach for seven seasons with a record of 111-40.

“My priorities changed a little bit,” Bostater said. “I want to spend more time with my family.”

He said he coaches his sons Ben, 11, and Zach, 9, in various sports.

Bostater is in his first season as the girls track coach and will continue in that position. He also is a math teacher at Southview.

Southview went 13-9 and reached the district semifinals last season. Bostater led the Cougars to a Northern Lakes League title in 2006 and was The Blade’s coach of the year that season. His teams won four sectional titles.

“I’ll miss preparing for the big games like the Northview-Southview rivalry and the big crowds,” Bostater said. “I got to coach against some great guys and I’ve had a lot of nice players.”
