Coach: Bryan Dudash, first year
Last season: 3-7, 1-6 TAAC
Returning letter winners: 13
Returning starters: Offense 7, defense 5
Schemes: Spread/4-3
Top players: Seniors Branden Bahnsen, 5-11, 185, FL-S; Zach Kalinoski, 5-11, 176, QB-LB. Juniors Cody German, 6-0, 180, TB-CB; Austin Morin, 6-0, 265, G-DT; Jim Chamberlin, 5-11, 180, SE-CB. Sophomore Taylor Molnar, 5-9, 190, FL-LB.
Outlook: The Lakers have only four seniors among their 30 players, but do return starters to 12 of 22 positions. The biggest loss was the graduation of standout quarterback Lucas Kennedy, who passed for 1,621 yards and 11 TDs, and rushed for 1,266 yards and scored 15 TDs.
Dudash likes his team's experience level and its athletic ability. His chief concerns are the Lakers' lack of size and depth.
"We have increased our numbers and will have a chance to have a junior varsity team for the first time in years," Dudash said. "This will help our development in the future. We can be competitive and will surprise teams with our athletic ability."
