Rebels rally to top Spartans

Bowsher 76, Start 74

Dajuan King stole the ball and scored the game-winning layup with two seconds left, lifting the Rebels to a dramatic victory Friday night in City League boys basketball.

Aundre Kizer scored 12 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter when Bowsher (15-5, 7-3 CL) rallied with a 25-13 run. Nate Allen scored eight of his 17 points in the fourth.

King finished with 17 points. Ivan Thomas added 11.

Dexter Johnson led the Spartans with 16 points, while Scott Hicks added 15.

Dion Ivery added 14 and Mike Mitchell 11 for Start (10-8, 5-5).

Waite 56, Woodward 52

Taywyn Mason scored 14 points to lead Waite to a tight road win.

Kenyatta Bowen added 10 for the Indians (2-18, 2-8).

Demarkus Darrington scored 15 points to lead Woodward (2-17, 0-10), while Romoan Fane had 13 and Tahron Watson 12.

Titans, Panthers cruise to easy victories

St. John's 61, St. Francis 23

St. John's outscored the Knights 28-11 in the first half and coasted to a Three Rivers Athletic Conference boys basketball win Friday night at Owens Community College.

Marc Loving scored 19 points to lead the Titans (16-3, 10-1) and Austin Gardner scored 12.

Jay Snell knocked down three 3-pointers on his way to 15 points for St. Francis (1-16, 1-10).

Whitmer 83, Clay 30

At Clay, the Panthers dominated the proceedings from the beginning, roaring out to a 16-6 first-quarter edge and 38-11 halftime advantage.

Four players reached double figures for Whitmer (14-5, 9-1), headed by Nigel Hayes’ 17 points. Chris Parker added 11 and Sam Hickey and Nick Holley 10 each.

Clay slips to 1-16, 0-11.

Fremont Ross 37, Findlay 35

FREMONT — Drew Starks scored 13 for the Little Giants (11-6, 6-5).

Austin Gutting had 14 for the Trojans (9-8, 5-5).

Findlay led 18-16 at the half, but the Little Giants used a 13-6 third quarter to take the lead and then held on.

Edwards tallies 32 to lead Yellow Jackets

Perrysburg 70,Northview 58

Shane Edwards poured in 32 points as Perrysburg won handily at home Friday night in Northern Lakes League boys basketball.

Nick Moschetti added 13 for the Yellow Jackets (11-6, 7-4 NLL).

Perrysburg led 19-10 after the first quater and then pushed the lead to 33-20 at halftime.

Connor Hartnett scored 29 points for Northview (9-9, 4-7), while Jeff Czerniakowski contributed 13.

Maumee 62, Napoleon 56

NAPOLEON — Maumee held 13-7 third quarter advantage after trailing 25-23 at the half.

Jason Wanamaker paced the Panthers (13-5, 6-5) with 20 points. Dominique King added 15, Zack Cliff 12 and Sean McGovern 11.

Jordan Lauf led Napoleon (5-11, 2-9) with 22 points. Blake Dunbar had 15 and Anson Lankenau 14.

Adams tosses in 29 points as Cardinals roll past Lakers

Cardinal Stritch 74, Danbury 31

LAKESIDE — Austin Adams scored 23 of his 29 points by halftime as the Cardinals cruised Friday night to a Toledo Area Athletic Conference boys basketball victory.

Robbie Beiker added 15 points for Cardinal Stritch (10-8, 7-4 TAAC), which led 34-18 at halftime.

Caleb Gerber scored 13 points for Danbury (1-15, 0-11).

Emmanuel Christian 52, Maumee Valley 30

Ryan Creech tossed in 20 points to lead the Warriors to a home victory.

Trent Groenhout added 14 for the Emmanuel Christian. (10-9, 5-6), which made 12 steals and only nine turnovers.

Davey Brown led the Hawks (9-8, 4-7) with nine points.

Gibsonburg 58, Northwood 48

Jordan Kreglow scored 16 points, helping the Golden Bears to a road win.

Andy Burmeister added 12 points for Gibsonburg (8-10, 6-5 TAAC), which led 29-24 at halftime before controlling the third quarter 17-10.

Tyler Williams (13 points), John Segura (11), and Evan Perkins (10) all scored into double figures for the Rangers (5-13, 3-8).

Mules knock off Monroe

Bedford 75, Monroe 52

TEMPERANCE — Jackson Lamb scored 24 points Friday night to pace the Mules in a Southeastern Conference boys basketball game.

Jeremy Harris added 12 and Dennis Guss 10 for Bedford (13-1, 8-0 SEC), which jumped out to a 20-11 lead after the first quarter and led 44-27 at halftime.

Raynard Pouncy scored 16 points for the Trojans (4-11, 0-8) and Riley Wood had 12.

Fayette stays unbeaten in BBC; Holgate, L-B post wins

Fayette 53, North Central 51

PIONEER, Ohio — Cole Burkholder’s two free throws with 30 seconds remaining turned out to be the winning points Friday night for Fayette in a Buckeye Border Conference boys basketball game.

Chandler Sanford led the Eagles (15-4, 8-0 BBC) with 13 points. Bukholder and Logan Franks each added 11.

Cam Cochran’s 14 points topped North Central (7-11, 4-4). Jalen Dancer added 13.

Pettisville 58, Hilltop 40

WEST UNITY — The Blackbirds raced out to a 17-6 lead and blew open the game after the third quarter with a 23-6 run to lead 51-20.

Kurt Siegel led Pettisville with 18 points, while David Reyes added 14, and Jacob Valdez 13.

Payne Sentle led the Cadets with 14 points.

Holgate 34, Hicksville 17

HOLGATE — Holgate led 22-5 at the half and held on.

Mitchell Gonzalez paced the Tigers (9-10) with 14 points.

Blake Sholl led Hicksville (5-14) with seven points.

Liberty-Benton 81, Arcadia 38

FINDLAY — John Darnall led the Eagles with 15 points.

Ryan Geise added 14, Mitch Linhart 12 and Zach Garver 11 for Liberty-Benton.

Seth Bauer scored 13 points to pace Arcadia.

Fremont St. Joseph 62, Fostoria St. Wendelin 38

FOSTORIA — Jordan Sessler scored 14 points and Marcus Kerr added 10 to lead the Streaks (14-4, 8-1 Midland Athletic League).

Zach Miller and Gabe Walters paced Fostoria St. Wendelin (6-11, 2-7) with nine points each.

Seneca East 56, Lakota 38

KANSAS — Seneca East (10-8, 5-4 MAL) outscored the Raiders 16-4 in the third quarter to pull away for a road win.

Kody Brewer finished with 13 points to lead Lakota (5-13, 2-7).

Streaks fly past Panthers

Archbold 68, Delta 42

DELTA — The Blue Streaks led 31-19 at the half and never looked back.

Evan Wyse scored 15 points to lead Archbold (14-3, 5-1 NWOAL), while Taylor Price had 11.

Micah Mohr led Delta (10-9, 3-3) with 10 points.

Liberty Center 63, Montpelier 50

LIBERTY CENTER — Kaleb Pohlman poured in 26 points to lead the Tigers (8-10, 3-3).

Blaine Thorp scored 28 points, including 12 free throws, to pace Montpelier (1-16, 0-7).
