In Division II, City League player of the year Cha’Ron Sweeney of Rogers was selected to the All-Ohio second team.

Sweeney, a 5-2 point guard (14.6 points, 4.0 assists) who has signed to play at Eastern Michigan University, led the sixth-ranked Rams to their second City League title in a row and to the regional final, where they lost last Friday to top-ranked, unbeaten Clyde.

Sweeney helped Rogers reach the regionals for the first time last season, when she was also named City League player of the year.

Clyde junior Amanda Cahill shared Division II player-of-the-year honors with Vanessa Smith of defending state champion Shaker Heights Hathaway Brown.
