Otsego prevails in OT against Bowling Green

TONTOGANY — Cody Downs carried the ball 38 times Friday night, though none were bigger than the last — a one-yard touchdown plunge to secure an overtime win for the Knights.

Downs finished with 129 yards and two touchdowns. He also completed 14 of 21 passes for 183 yards and two touchdowns — 29 yards to Riley Tercha, and 34 yards to Cole Gorski (six catches, 95 yards). The last one put Otsego up 20-13 in the fourth quarter.

BG tied it on Matt Kneesi’s second TD run with 3:38 to play in regulation. Otsego missed a late field goal before going overtime.

In OT, Andy Fisher’s 37-yard field goal gave the Bobcats a lead.

BG’s Ryan Emans on a 78-yard pass from Aaron Donaldson, who completed 7 of 20 passes for 132 yards.

Stone Simmons threw two touchdown passes to Cody Kimmet to help Tiffin Columbian (2-1) to a road win.

Ryan Lynch added a six-yard TD run and Nate Hoyda returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown for the Tornadoes.

Jake Hartbarger kicked field goals of 24 and 26 yards for the Generals (1-2) from 24 and 26 yards.
