Wauseon get pasts Delta with late touchdown pass

Wauseon 20, Delta 13

WAUSEON — Wauseon quarterback Ty Suntken found Kris Boysel on a 40-yard touchdown strike with 1:50 left in the fourth quarter to pull out a victory Friday night in a Northwest Ohio Athletic League game.

Wauseon (4-0, 2-0 NWOAL) trailed 13-12 before the dramatic TD pass. The Indians scored a two-point conversion when Noah Castle caught a pass from Suntken.

Suntken finished 10 of 19 for 164 and two passing TDs. He also ran in from two yards out in the fourth quarter.

Dylan Norstrant scored on a 31-yard run to give Delta (2-2, 0-2) a 6-0 lead.

Suntken found Axel Bueter on a 42-yard pass to tie the game.

Jesse Beverly ran in from 16-yards out to give Delta a 13-6 edge at halftime.

 

Patrick Henry 21, Liberty Center 3

LIBERTY CENTER — Patrick Henry quarterback Derek Kolpien threw two touchdown passes as the Patriots scored all of their points in the second half.

Josh Petersen rushed in from 33 yards out to open the scoring for Patrick Henry (3-1, 3-0).

Kolpien hit Zach Nye on a 23-yard strike in the third quarter and found Kollin Spence on a four-yard score in the fourth.

Kolpien finished 15-of-26 passing for 178 yards.

Kaleb Pohlman led Liberty Center (3-1, 2-1) with 115 rushing yards on 22 carries. Pohlman kicked a 25-yard field goal.

 

Swanton 34, Montpelier 0

SWANTON — Bryce McComb connected with Rob Gilsdorf for two touchdowns (5 and 10 yards) as Swanton (1-3, 1-2) cruised.

McComb also rushed in from five yards out.

Jordan Nyler plunged in from two yards and Justin Timpe added a two-yard TD run.

Montpelier falls to 1-3, 0-3.
