St. John’s, Woodward, Eastwood all win in OT; Central tops Springfield

Kyle Brighton’s layup as time expired helped the Vikings win on the road in dramatic fashion Saturday night in boys basketball.
Brighton finished with 12 points for Evergreen (5-1), which was led by Logan Pinkelman’s 16.
Aerin West scored 16 to lead Northview (1-5), which missed on the front end of three 1-and-1 free-throw opportunities late, the last of which came with seven seconds left. Mohamed Afisi added 13.
St. John’s 85, Univ. of Detroit Jesuit 77
Parker Ernsthausen scored 12 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter as the Titans (5-2) battled back to send the game into overtime.
The Titans hit 9 of 9 free throws in OT to seal the win. Anthony Glover tallied 20 and Gabe Kynard 14.
For University of Detroit Jesuit (1-1), Cassius Winston had 24, Billy Thomas 21 and Spencer Sanders 10.
Central Catholic 48, Springfield 44
Marcus Winters scored eight of his game-high 16 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Irish.
Springfield led 29-26 at the half, but scored just one point in the third quarter to fall behind by eight going into the fourth quarter.
The Blue Devils were led by Markese Hicks with 13 points while Manny Durdan added 12.
Woodward 68, Warren JFK 66
WARREN — Ramoan Fane scored 27 points and had 12 rebounds as Woodward won in double overtime. the game ended at 57-all after regulation and 65-all after the first OT.
Tahron Watson added 14 and Breon Strozier had 11.
Zach Usher led Warren JFK with 22 points.
Eastwood 64, Liberty-Benton 63
PEMBERVILLE — Jake Schmeltz hit a free-throw with no time remaining in overtime as Eastwood completed a big comeback.
The Eagles trailed by 15 points at halftime before charging back.
Schmeltz led Eastwood with 24 points, Grant Peters scored 17, and Jordon Faykosh had 12.
John Darnall scored 20 points for Liberty-Benton, including a shot that sent the game to overtime. Adam Cytlak added 16 and B.J. Lawson and Alec Rhodes scored 10 each.
Scott 59, Maumee 45
Chris Harris scored 12 of his game-high 20 points during the third quarter, when the Bulldogs outscored Maumee 23-8 to pull away on the road. Harris hit five 3-pointers.
Chris Darrington scored 12 points and Percy Bogan added 11 for Scott (3-3), which led 21-19 at halftime.
Mitchell Kontak led Maumee (1-4) with 13 points.
Archbold 65, Pettisville 31
ARCHBOLD—Tyson Schnitkey poured in 18 points to lead the Blue Streaks (5-0).
The Blackbirds (3-3) were paced by Tate Kauffman with 12.
Old Fort 74, Woodmore 48
ELMORE — Hunter Perry tallied 34 points to lead Old Fort.
Phil Thorbahn led Woodmore (1-6) with 14 points and Zach Gephart had 11.
Otsego 39, Stritch 38
TONTOGANY—Jalen Myers drilled home a 3-point shot with 10 seconds to play to lift Otsego (4-2). Myers led the Knights with 19 points.
Austin Adams and Austin Pratt scored 13 and 11, respectively, for the Cardinals (2-2), who missed a shot after Myers’ field goal.
Delta 67, Stryker 55
DELTA—Ethan Edwards scored 19, Scott Garlinger 14 and Andrew Stickley 13 for the Panthers (3-1).
Brannan Woolace led Stryker with 15 and was aided by Parker Ruffer with 11 and Dean Beamont with 10.
Lakota 46, Vanlue 27
KANSAS — Colin Timmons scored 14 points and Josh Kirkpatrick added 10 to lead Lakota.
Nick Hagerty tallied nine points to pace Vanlue.
Perrysburg 70, Sandusky Perkins 36
SANDUSKY — Nick Moschetti scored 18 points and Nate Patterson added 14 as Perrysburg (5-0) cruised.
Nic Williams poured in 23 points for Perkins (4-2).
Gibsonburg 80, Arcadia 51
ARCADIA—The Golden Bears (3-2) were topped by Jordan Kreglow with 23 points, Adam Copley with 14 and Andrew Cantrell had 11.
Josh Ireland had 20 and Shae Watkins 13 for the Redskins (0-5).
Tinora 64, Liberty Center 62
TINORA — Derek Drewes tallied 25 points to pace Tinora.
Konnor Pohlman poured in 22 points for Liberty Center and Matt Huber added 14.
