BERLIN, Ohio — Notre Dame suffered its first loss of the season Saturday in the opening game of the Classic in the Country, an event that draws top girls basketball teams.
Danie Shafer paced Fairmont (15-1) with 19 points, Kathryn Westbeld had 18 and Makayla Waterman scored 14.
Tierra Floyd led Notre Dame (9-1) with 12 points.
Whitmer 50, Bowling Green 36
BOWLING GREEN —Keshyra McCarver scored 17 points and Samantha Meinen 12 for the Panthers (9-3).
Hanna Williford topped the Bobcats (8-8) with 14 points.
Central Catholic 50, Perrysburg 49
Michelle Murnen sank a pair of free throws in overtime to lift the Irish to a slim win over the Yellow Jackets.
Alyssa Galernik led Central Catholic (8-3) with 19 points while Murnen finished with nine.
Sarah Baer had 21 points for Perrysburg (12-2). Lindy Delong added 11.

FINDLAY — The Cougars placed four players in double figures.
Emily Westphal led Southview (11-6) with 14 points, while Taryn Stanley added 13, Sarah Klepzig 12, and Lauren Huntsman 10.

Kendall McCoy scored 14 points and Maddie Cole added 13 as Northview (12-4) won at home.
