Albright keys Comets’ upset over Royals

Genoa 74, Elmwood 56

GENOA — Ciara Albright scored 29 points as the Comets upset the Royals Friday night in a Northern Buckeye Conference girls basketball game.

Haley Pickard added 21 for the Comets (13-4, 7-3 NBC), while Erica Harder added 11.

Kristen Curtis tallied 16 for Elmwood (11-4, 9-0). Rebecca Harvey and Samantha Ervin had 10 each.

Rossford 52, Lake 40

The Bulldogs (12-5, 8-3 NBC) won at home as Cheyenne Davis scored 13 points and Maddie York added 10.

Catie Phalen’s led the Flyers (7-9, 4-5) with 17 points.

Woodmore 49, Eastwood 27

ELMORE — Allie Wank scored 17 points for the Wildcats (8-10, 6-4 NBC), who pulled away after halftime.

Eastwood (2-14, 1-10) was led by Mackenzie Albright’s eight points.

Otsego 46, Fostoria 29

TONTOGANY — Abby Hesselschwardt scored 15 of her 17 points after halftime for the Knights (8-8, 6-4 NBC). Lindsey Donald added 12.

Olivia Velenti scored nine points for Fostoria (1-13, 0-10).

Saline 41, Bedford 39

SALINE, Mich. — Amanda Zylstra scored 19 points for Saline.

Bedford (10-3) missed on a game-tying shot at the buzzer in a Southeastwern Conference game.

Nicole Rightnowar led the Mules with 21 points.

Monclova Christian 35, Washtenaw Christian 31

Kenzie Simon tallied 16 points as the Thunder won at home.

Kara Goss paced Washtenaw with 19 points.
