Beans tallies 28 points as Green Bears win title

Ottawa Hills 71, Cardinal Stritch 46

The Green Bears pulled away early Friday night and clinched an outright Toledo Area Athletic Conference boys basketball championship.

Geoff Beans hit five 3-pointers and scored 28 points for the Green Bears (16-1, 12-0 TAAC), who led 16-3 after the first quarter. Ellis Cummings added 15 points and R.J. Coil 12.

Austin Adams finished with 20 points for the Cardinals (8-10, 7-6) and has topped 1,000 points in his career. He is the third player in school history to reach that milestone but the first to do it as a junior.

Emmanuel Christian 40, Northwood 27

Jordan Farley scored nine points to lead visiting Emmanuel Christian.

The Warriors (5-14, 2-11) raced out to a 24-13 advantage at halftime.

Dustin Sigurdson paced Northwood (1-17, 0-13) with 10 points.

Toledo Christian 47, Maumee Valley 28

The Eagles got a road win with a good defensive effort.

Kyle Kempton scored 22 for Toledo Christian (13-7, 10-3) and Garshawn Paynther added 11.

Lucas Isaza scored 10 for the Hawks (13-6, 8-4).

Gibsonburg 73, Danbury 26

LAKESIDE — Andrew Cantrell made six 3-pointers for his 18 points as Gibsonburg cruised.

Jordan Kreglow added 17 for the Golden Bears (15-4, 8-4).

James Dorko led Danbury (4-15, 3-9) with eight points.
