Boys roundup: Gruden tallies 20 in Perrysburg win

Pacer scores 22 as Maumee downs Napoleon in NLL

PERRYSBURG 61, NORTHVIEW 51

Matt Gruden and Seth Morgan combined for 35 points to lead the Yellow Jackets to a win over the Wildcats in a Northern Lakes League boys basketball game.

Gruden scored a game-high 20 points and Morgan offered 15 points. Nick Sanford added 13 points for Perrysburg (13-6, 10-2 NLL).

Logan Jessing led Northview (13-7, 7-5) with 17 points, Sam Clear added 11 points.

MAUMEE 69, NAPOLEON 55

NAPOLEON — Ben Pacer scored a team-high 22 points and James Braithwaite added 21 for the Panthers (6-13).

Brett Lauf paced Napoleon (6-13) with  23 points.

WHITMER 52, FREMONT ROSS 43

After a low-scoring first half, Whitmer never let Fremont Ross closer than six points in a high-scoring final two quarters to hold off the Little Giants.

Derrick Rayford finished with 18 points and Nick Witcher scored 12 for Whitmer (14-6, 8-4 TRAC).

Fremont Ross (5-15, 1-11) was led by Brandon Trolio, who scored 13 and Malik Johnson who had 11.

OLD FORT 61, WOODMORE 60

OLD FORT — Woodmore had a few chances to tie the game but Old Fort held on to win at home.

Jacob Webb scored 20 and Hootie Cleveland scored 16 for Old Fort (17-2).

Mitchell Miller paced Woodmore (6-13) with 19 points and Mikey Blausey put up 16.

SOUTHVIEW 78, SPRINGFIELD 57

Ryan Fries scored 24 points and Zech Miller had 18 along with nine rebounds to lead Southview over Springfield.

Terrell Bryant led the way for Springfield with 15 points.

CARDINAL STRITCH 73, MONCLOVA CHRISTIAN 39

Jordan Burton tallied a game-high 19 points to lead the Cardinals to the road win.

Joey Holifield scored 17 points and Jeff Dunsmore added 10 for Stritch (15-4).

Luke Metzger tallied a team-high 15 points and Nick Kaufman added 12 for Monclova Chrisitan (11-4).

OTTAWA HILLS 69, NORTHWOOD 48

NORTHWOOD — Hunter Seiben pumped in a game-high 26 points to lead the Green Bears past the Rangers in a Toledo Area Athletic Conference matchup.

Peter Roman scored 12 points and Brett Hoffman added 11 points for Ottawa Hills (12-6, 8-4 TAAC).

Gabe LaPlante scored a team-high 19 points, including five 3-pointers, for Northwood (1-18, 1-10).

OTSEGO 60, GIBSONBURG 49

GIBSONBURG — A big third quarter made the difference as Otsego won on the road against Gibsonburg.

Parker Bollmar led the way with 19, and Will Varner and David Silva added 12 for Otsego (11-9).

Nick Kille kept Gibsonburg (9-11) in the game with his 23 points.

CENTRAL CATHOLIC 66, CLAY 49

DJ Triplett scored 29 points as Central Catholic was able to win on the road at Clay.

Triplett made four 3-pointers. Clay was led by Josh Kiss, who scored 13.

OAK HARBOR 61, LAKOTA 36

KANSAS — Oak Harbor outscored Lakota by nine in the second quarter and didn't look back in its road win.

Tate Smith led the way with 13 points for Oak Harbor.
