Girls basketball: Delp, Cinsera lift Central Catholic

Central Catholic 58, Cham.-Julienne  42

WESTCHESTER, Ohio — The Irish improved to 7-1 with an impressive showing at the Lakota West Holiday Tournament in Westchester near Cincinnati on Friday night. Maverick Delp and Jade Cinsera both had 12 points to lead Central, which closed out the win with a 21-point fourth quarter.

Oak Harbor 51, Fremont St. Joseph  44

OAK HARBOR — The Rockets handed the Streaks their first loss of the season with a balanced scoring attack, topped by Sophia Eli’s 16 points. Logan Harris had 14 points for the winners, while Ashley Riley scored 12.

Oak Harbor had a 23-22 halftime lead before outscoring St. Joseph 28-22 over the final 16 minutes.

Whitmer 53, Chartier-Houston  (Pa.) 24

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Panthers earned a third-place finish in the Rock Holiday Classic by outplaying their Pennsylvania-based opponent in the victory. Whitmer (7-3) was led by Jenna Thomas with 17 points, and Abby Hickey with 15 points.

There was little second-half drama thanks to the Panthers’ 32-12 halftime advantage. 

Chartier-Houston dropped to 10-4.

Danbury 48, Huron 37

LAKESIDE — Erin Uhinek had 17 points as the host Lakers sprinted to a 15-6 first-quarter lead and never looked back. Haley Hoffman had nine points for Danbury.

Huron was led by Hayden Petee with 15 points, and Gabby Sasala, who scored 14.

Carey  59, North Baltimore 52

CAREY — Sydney Kin had 29 points, including 13 free throws, to help the Devils win a nonleague game.

Katelyn Weinandy had 26 points for North Baltimore (6-4), and Alivia Light scored 18.

Notre Dame 58, Solon 53

DUBLIN, Ohio — The Eagles topped previously unbeaten Solon in overtime behind Kailah Johnson, who had 15 points, and Jala Johnson, who scored 12. Ashley Barron had a clutch steal in OT to help seal the win for the Eagles, who improved to 7-2.

Solon was led by Mariah Mookins’ 12 points.
