Boys Basketball: Bowsher, Start, Rogers win City League games

Bowsher 79, Waite 69

Ajai Washington scored 19 points to lead a quartet of Rebels double-digit scorers in the City League boys basketball game Friday night.

Shawn Hoskins netted 14, Markus Ray had 11, and Keegan Norman added 10 for the Rebels (6-7, 3-2 CL).

Waite (6-7, 2-3) trailed 39-34 at the half.

Start 81, Woodward 59

Five Spartans players landed in double figures, led by Alex Perry with 15 points, for Start (10-3, 4-1 CL).

Tyrik Barbine and Nick Neely scored 14 points for the Spartans. Devin Williams had 13 points, and Brandon Lewis chipped in 12 points.

Charles Robinson III had 26 points for the Polar Bears (1-14, 0-5), and Jaymar Robinson added 16 points.

Rogers 99, Scott 59

At Rogers, the Rams (5-8, 5-0 CL) got an easy win as Da’Sean Nelson scored 21, Christian Smith 19, Josh Ellis 12, and Caleb Smith 12.

For the Bulldogs (1-11, 1-5), Eugene Towbridge scored a game-high 26, and Marquise Brown added 16.

Whitmer 48, Lima Senior 47

LIMA — Down eight with less than four minutes to play, the Panthers rallied for a Three Rivers Athletic Conference road victory.

Eddie Colbert scored eight of his 11 points in the fourth quarter, and Cavon Butler (10 points) scored the final five points for Whitmer (10-3, 6-1 TRAC). Leon Hughes added 11 points.

Jaleel King led the Spartans (6-6, 2-4) with 21 points, which included 13 in the fourth quarter.

St. Francis 52, Central Catholic 48

Tayler McNeal scored 16 points to lead St. Francis (10-3, 5-2 TRAC) to a home win.

Jakiel Wells added 13 points for the Knights and Drew Swerlein had 12.

Dallas Fields paced Central Catholic (6-5, 2-3) with 17 points, and Jonzell Norrils scored 13.

St. John’s 53, Findlay 43

FINDLAY — Houston King scored 19 points as St. John’s remained unbeaten in Three Rivers Athletic Conference play with a road win.

Vince Williams and Payton Moyer added 12 points each for the Titans (10-2, 6-0 TRAC).

Ryan Nunn paced Findlay (7-5, 2-3) with 19 points.

Anthony Wayne 63, Springfield 61

Max Denman scored 12 of his 28 points in the first quarter for the host Generals (9-3, 5-1 Northern Lakes League). Andrew Murphy added 16 points, with 12 of those coming in the fourth, when they sealed the game at the foul line.

Terrel Bryant and Tyler Dave both scored 14 for the Blue Devils (2-10, 2-5). Denzel Prince added 13.

Perrysburg 48, Maumee 29

Seth Morgan and Jackson Sizemore both scored 15 points for the visiting Yellow Jackets (6-5, 4-3 NLL).

Ben Pacer led the Panthers (3-10, 1-6) with 14 points.

Bowling Green 59, Napoleon 39

BOWLING GREEN — Isaac Eisasser scored 23 points and Bryce Hoehner added 15 for the Bobcats (3-8, 3-4 NLL).

Logan Shepard led Napoleon (2-12, 0-7) with 10.

Woodmore 46, Eastwood 44

ELMORE — Mitchell Miller drained a 3-pointer from the right wing with 5.8 seconds left to break a 43-all tie and propel the Wildcats during a tense Northern Buckeye Conference contest.

Miller finished with 20 points. Drew Burner added 13 for Woodmore (9-2, 4-2 NBC).

Eastwood (6-3, 4-2) was paced by Tyler Haas and Cory Coffman, both of whom scored 11.

Otsego 50, Lake 21

MILLBURY — Will Varner poured in 27 points to lead Otsego (8-3, 5-2 NBC).

Ahmad Smith scored 10 to lead Lake (5-10, 2-5).

Rossford 45, Elmwood 26

Payton Sloan scored 14 points and Shawn Smith scored 12 to lead host Rossford (4-9, 2-5 NBC).

Zach Weiss led Elmwood (6-7, 2-5) with nine points.

Genoa 86, Fostoria 37

GENOA — Jacob Plantz tallied 30 points as Genoa (9-3, 7-0 NBC) cruised at home.

Josiah Bradfield scored 13 points for the Comets, while Andrew Bench and Caleb McGeorge added 12 points.

Maalik Tucker paced Fostoria (3-10, 1-6) with 12 points.

Ottawa Hills 60, Danbury 44

LAKESIDE — Eliot Cummings scored 30 points and Tommy Coil added 11 more for the visiting Green Bears (7-4, 4-3) in Toledo Area Athletic Conference play at Danbury (3-7, 1-5).

Maumee Valley 65, Gibsonburg 39

GIBSONBURG — Jaiden Woodley scored 14 points and Zeb Jackson finished with 13 for the visiting Hawks (8-3, 5-2 TAAC).

Addison Weaver led Gibsonburg (2-8, 1-5) with 13 points.

Emmanuel Christian 56, Northwood 36

Jailon Walker scored 17 points and Caden Williams added 13 points for the Warriors (5-5, 2-4 TAAC), who outscored the Rangers 17-8 in the final quarter.

Cameron Price scored nine for Northwood (1-13, 1-7).

Wauseon 67, Archbold 56

ARCHBOLD — Four Indians players scored, led by Austin Rotroff with 18 points, as Wauseon (14-0, 2-0) stayed unbeaten in the Northwest Ohio Athletic League.

Trent Armstrong scored 16 points for the Indians, Levi Seiler added 15, and Brooks Gype with 11.

Archbold (9-3, 1-1) was led by Bryce Williams with 22 points and Rigo Ramos 16.

Bryan 43, Swanton 41

SWANTON — Peyton Lamberson scored 18 points and Zhane Cupp 11 for the Golden Bears (5-7, 1-1 NWOAL).

Randy Slink and Jared Wilson both finished with 11 for Swanton (5-8, 0-2).

Delta 52, Patrick Henry 49

DELTA — Bowen Green scored 18 points as Delta (4-8, 1-1 NWOAL) won in overtime. Seth Burres added 12 points for Delta and Brady Wymer added 10.

Kaiden McGraw paced Patrick Henry (4-8, 1-1) with 18 points, and Xavier Wensink added 12.

Port Clinton 45, Willard 35

PORT CLINTON — Sam Diaz and Max Rumbarger both scored 11 points, and Alex Koskela added 10 as Port Clinton (1-10) won.

Myles Pinkston led Willard (3-8) with 10 points.
