Outlook: The first goal for the Redskins? Move up the SBC standings and secure a winning season.

Hammond believes experience will be a significant factor this season, as 13 of his 38 players are seniors, and most of those seniors have started within the last two seasons. A large sophomore class of 15 players also helps the Redskins, as the program will field both a junior varsity and freshman schedule this season, allowing players to develop at the proper competitive level.

Conference coaches picked the Redskins to finish sixth. But the challenge for Port Clinton will be to remain free of injuries -- an aspect that's hurt them in the last few seasons.

"We've been 5-5 the last few years, so we'd like to get a winning season," Hammond said. "But that's always my goal, to have the best team we can possibly have."
