Vikings shut down Bulldogs for win

Evergreen 44, Swanton 0

METAMORA — Matt Taylor tied an Evergreen record with five rushing touchdowns, leading the Vikings (3-4, 2-3 NWOAL) to an easy league win.

Taylor carried 13 times for 220 yards and five touchdowns and threw for 121 yards and a touchdown as well. Taylor scored on runs of 12, 20, 12, 45, and 29 yards.

He also connected with Jamie Wright for a 22-yard touchdown strike to start the scoring.

Mitch Carter added an 11 yard touchdown run.

Evergreen dominated the game defensively, giving up only eight first downs to Swanton (0-7, 0-6).


Archbold 37, Delta 8

ARCHBOLD — Evan Wyse threw a pair of touchdown passes and ran for another to lead the Blue Streaks (6-1, 4-1).

Wyse completed 9 of 17 passes for 231 yards and two touchdowns — a 35-yard throw to Levi Wyse in the first quarter and a 54-yard heave to Lincoln Parsley in the third quarter. Wyse also ran for a 32-yard touchdown, and finished with 88 yards rushing on 13 carries.

Also scoring for Archbold were Tyson Dietrich on a six-yard run, and Jay Miller on a 16-yard fumble return.

Mark Francis led Delta (1-6, 0-5) with 113 rushing yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.
