Miller, Eid lead Northview girls into Division I tennis sectionals

Division I and II district competition in girls tennis is set for Friday and Saturday at Bowling Green State University and the University of Northwest Ohio.

Qualifying as top district seeds based on D-I sectional singles championships are Northview junior Megan Miller, sophomore Nina Eid of Northview, and senior Meghan Gray of Findlay.

Competing as No. 2 seeds will be senior Hannah Pike of Central Catholic, senior Cassadie Baker of Bowling Green, and junior Jaden Northcutt of Perrybsurg.

Other local D-II district qualifiers in singles include seniors Emily Gross (Northview) and Maggie Kelley (Findlay), juniors Jennifer Belkofer (Clay), Madie Smith (Anthony Wayne) and Kaitlyn Dominiak (Central), sophomore Jordan Cady (Notre Dame) and freshman Kennedy Northcutt (Perrysburg).

Entering D-I district doubles competition will be the teams of senior Emily Potter and sophomore Emma Podolski of Southview, freshman Alicia Nahhas and sophomore Tegan McNamara of Notre Dame, senior Sarah Jankowski and junior McKenzie Krieg of Anthony Wayne, and seniors Sarah Gray and Jenna Overmyer of Fremont Ross.

In D-II, entering as sectional singles champions are junior Rochell Issa of Maumee Valley and senior Ashley LaFountain of Oak Harbor.

Other D-II singles qualifiers include senior Rohina Raha and junior Nora Jarra of Maumee Valley, and sophomore Sophie Beck of Toledo Christian.

The doubles team of senior Shivani Bhatt and freshman Lilly Boice of Ottawa Hills enter as D-II sectional champions. They will be joined by their sophomore teammates, Michelle Healy and Megan Healy, who enter as third seeds.

First and second-round play in singles and doubles in both divisions is set for BGSU on Friday, and all semifinals and finals will be Saturday at UNOH.
