Cardinals rally, beat Hawks

Central wins; Otsego, Lake notch NBC road victories

Cardinal Stritch 54, Maumee Valley 53

The Cardinal Stritch boys basketball team stormed back after halftime, outscoring Maumee Valley 35-23 to escape with a road win Tuesday night in the Toledo Area Athletic Conference.

The Hawks made a two-point shot at the buzzer but it wasn’t enough.

Austin Adams paced Cardinal Stritch (7-5, 4-2 TAAC) with 25 points, while Brooks Gasser added 10 points.

Davey Brown poured in 31 points for Maumee Valley (7-4, 3-3) and Caleb Willhight scored 10.

Central 68, Lima Senior 57

The Irish (4-1, 8-1 Three Rivers Athletic Conference) were paced by Nate Harris with 19, and DeShone Kizer and Cliff Bussey with 12.

For the Spartans (2-4, 4-6) Devon Allen had 19, Isiah Simpson 16 and Mark Dillingham 12.

Otsego 48, Elmwood 31

BLOOMDALE — The Knights raced to a 21-9 halftime lead and didn’t look back in their Northern Buckeye Conference road victory.

John Thomas hit a couple 3-pointers to lead Otsego (11-1, 6-0 NBC). Jerome Griffin hit three from the 3-point line in a 15-point effort.

Zach Foster led Elmwood (7-5, 2-4) with 15 points. Aaron Arnold added 10.

Lake 67, Fostoria 39

FOSTORIA — The Flyers (12-1, 5-1 NBC) placed four players in double figures, led by Jared Rettig’s 16 points. Marcus Pierce added 15, Cody Witt 11 and Tyler Landis 10 for Lake.

Fostoria (5-10, 0-6), which suffered 30 turnovers, was paced by 20 points from Adonis Cousin.

Monclova Christian 43, Bowling Green Christian 30

Tom LaChance had 13 and Trevor Hester added 12 for the Thunder.

BGCA was paced by Gavin Winters with eight.

Oak Harbor 65, Lakota 42

OAK HARBOR — Greg Haar paced Oak Harbor with 20 points. A.J. Cecil added 12 points for the Rockets and Josh Sarahman chipped in with 10 points.

Nate Ray scord 17 points to lead Lakota.

Rossford 57, Eastwood 47

Derek Mack scored 15 and Mack Miller and Brian Burks added 12 for the Bulldogs. Jake Schmeltz tallied 14 for the Eagles.
