The Anthony Wayne hockey team is hosting a benefit game at 7 p.m. Feb. 1 when the Generals play Maumee at Tam-O-Shanter.

Anthony Wayne coach Troy Boze said proceeds from a 50/50 raffle, silent auction, and other drawings will benefit Whitehouse resident Josie Langsdorf, who was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer two and a half years ago.

“We are trying to raise funds to help her achieve her bucket list,” Boze said.

Langsdorf, a 40-year-old nonsmoker who has lung cancer, has received an outpouring of support from the AW sports teams. Students have worn orange-colored shirts at basketball games and Langsdorf was honored recently before the start of a boys varsity game.

The silent auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. before the hockey game.
