City: Rams go to 7-0 in league play

Rogers 83, Woodward 43

Tony Kynard scored 15 points for the first-place Rams Friday night in City League boys basketball.

Omari Hicks added 13 points for host Rogers (9-4, 7-0 CL). Keandre Gilmore had 11 and Brandon Austin with 10.

For the Polar Bears (0-7, 2-13), Tehron Watson led with 11.

Start 97, Waite 58

Dion Ivery pumped in 26 points for the host Spartans, who raced out to a 27-12 lead after the first quarter .

Dexter Johnson had 17, while Scott Hicks added 14 for Start (8-6, 4-3).

The Indians (1-15, 1-6) were by Taywyn Mason with 17.

 

TRAC: Panthers hold off Trojans, Smith leads Whitmer with 20 points; Loving scores 25 to lead Titans to win

Whitmer 50, Findlay 46

FINDLAY — Luke Hickey hit a 3-point shot with 35 seconds left to give the Panthers a 47-46 lead they didn’t relinquish in a Three Rivers Athletic Conference boys basketball game Friday night.

Nigel Hayes scored nine of his 14 points during the fourth quarter, when Whitmer (12-3, 7-2 TRAC) outscored the Trojans 19-11. Ricardo Smith led the Panthers with 20 points.

Adam Twining scored 17 points to lead Findlay (8-6, 5-3). Austin Gutting finished with 16, and Michael Clark added 11.

St. John’s 84, Fremont Ross 49

Marc Loving scored 25 points as the Titans raced to a 42-18 halftime lead at home.

Anthony Glover and Austin Gardner both added 15 points for St. John’s (13-3, 8-1).

Alex Metcalf led a balanced attack for Fremont Ross (8-6, 4-5) with eight points.

Central Catholic 61, St. Francis 45

Keith Towbridge scored 14 points to lead visiting Central Catholic.

The Irish (10-2, 6-2) led 31-17 at halftime and outscored St. Francis 20-10 in the third to ensure a win.

Jay Snell scored 18 points to lead St. Francis (1-8, 1-14).

Lima Senior 94, Clay 71

The visiting Spartans took control early, rolling to an 18-6 first-quarter edge.

Devon Allen topped Lima Senior (6-8, 4-5) with 26 points, while Rico Stafford scored 19, Isiah Simpson 15 and Ruben Flowers 10. Allen also dished out eight assists.

Pat Booth fired in 22 points for the Eagles (0-13, 0-10). Jack Magy tallied 20 and Dexter Williams 10.

 

NLL: Napoleon rallies from 23 down to stun Jackets; BG’s Brown, Southview’s Morrison each score 30

Napoleon 57,Perrysburg 55

NAPOLEON — The Wildcats trailed 41-18 late in the third quarter, but finished the game on a 39-14 run to pull out an improbable win Friday night in Northern Lakes League boys basketball.

Jordan Lauf led Napoleon (5-7, 2-7 NLL) with 22 points and Levi Damman added 11 points.

Nate Patterson and Shane Edwards scored 16 points each to pace Perrysburg (10-5, 6-3). Matt Kaczinski added 12 points.

Bowling Green 64, Springfield 55

BOWLING GREEN — Vitto Brown scored a game-high 30 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, and blocked six shots for the Bobcats.

LaMonta’ Stone added 22 points, six rebounds, and six assists for Bowling Green (8-8, 6-3), which led 30-16 at halftime.

Marquan Hodges led Springfield (9-5, 5-4) with 16 points. Logan Weimer added 13 points and Markese Hicks 12.

Southview 64, Maumee 55

Matt Morrison hit six 3-pointers on his way to 30 points for the visiting Cougars (4-11, 2-7).

Nate Hall added 14 points and Jeremiah Roberts had 12.

A 17-5 third-quarter advantage for Southview proved to be the difference in the game.

Jason Wanamaker scored 24 points, including six 3-pointers, for Maumee (10-5, 4-5), while Sean McGovern added 13 points.

Anthony Wayne 66, Northview 47

The visiting Generals (12-2, 8-1) were led by matching 21-point outputs from Matt Fox and Mark Donnal as they built a 39-27 lead at the break.

Connor Hartnett led the Wildcats (7-8, 3-6) with 18 in the loss.

 

TAAC: Big fourth-quarter rally lifts Warriors to victory

Emmanuel Christian 61, Gibsonburg 57

Ryan Creech had 24 points as the Warriors rallied in the fourth quarter to win Friday night in Toledo Area Athletic Conference boys basketball.

Emmanuel Christian (8-6, 3-4 TAAC) trailed 52-41 after three quarters, but Bobby Behan’s two 3-pointers sparked a run in the final period.

Jason Regnier scored 16 for the Warriors, while Trent Groenhout had 11, and Behan finished with 10.

Jordan Kreglow tossed in 13 points for the Golden Bears (6-9, 4-4). Tyler Ernsthausen added 11 and Andrew Cantrell 10.

Maumee Valley 51,Liberty Center 48

The Hawks won at home, making key free throws down the stretch and outscoring Liberty Center 10-3 in the second quarter.

Davey Brown sparked Maumee Valley (9-5) with 14 points while Thad Woodard added 11.

Kody Snyder’s eight points led the Tigers (4-10).

Toledo Christian 83, Northwood 68

Eric Cellier paced host Toledo Christian with 24 points.

The Eagles (12-1, 7-0) raced out to a 44-26 halftime lead.

Ben Ivan added 19 points and Josh Winzeler scored 14 for Toledo Christian.

Tyler Williams led Northwood (3-11, 1-6) with 25 points, while Brandon Hoffman scored 12 and Evan Perkins 11.

Ottawa Hills 71,Danbury 20

LAKESIDE — Geoff Beans paced the Green Bears with 22 points.

Ottawa Hills (9-3, 5-2) blazed to a 19-1 lead after the first quarter. Lucas Janowicz added 13 points.

Dominic Manvella had six for the Lakers (1-11, 0-7).

 

NWOAL: Golden Bears defeat Panthers in overtime

Bryan 52, Delta 50

BRYAN — The Golden Bears outscored the Panthers 8-6 in overtime Friday night to take sole possession of first place in Northwest Ohio Athletic League boys basketball.

Delta led 18-17 at halftime and the scored was tied at 32 after the third period and at 44 at the end of regulation.

Thomas Martin scored 15 points to lead Bryan (8-7, 5-0 NWOAL), while Austin Martin added 12 points.

Scott Garlinger paced Delta (10-6, 3-1) with 21 points.

Archbold 55, Wauseon 47

ARCHBOLD — Archbold jumped out to an 18-3 halftime, made 20 of 28 free throws, and cruised to victory.

Luke Fisher had 12 points), while Tyson Schnitkey and Bryce Tinsman each had 10 for the Blue Streaks (12-3, 4-1).

Collin Bzovi led Wauseon (8-7, 3-1) with 15 points. Michael Hammonds added 13.

Evergreen 60, Swanton 51

METAMORA — Evergreen used a big third quarter to earn a victory.

The Vikings outscored Swanton 20-10 in the third after the game was tied at 28 at halftime.

Cory Mossing led Evergreen (12-2, 3-1) with 18 points, while Matt Brighton and Logan Pinkelman added 14 points each.

Rocky Robinson scored 21 for Swanton (3-11, 0-5) and Dylan Verdell chipped in with 10.

 

Area: Dudley keys St. Joseph win; Ayersville slips past Holgate

Fremont St. Joseph 59, New Riegel 54

FREMONT — Connor Dudley scored 18 points to lead the Streaks Friday night to a Midland Athletic League win.

Hunter Harrison finished with 12 points, Zack Yeckley 11, and Jordan Sessler 10 for Fremont St. Joseph (11-3, 6-1 MAL), which led 27-19 at halftime.

Brandyn Reinhart scored 25 points for New Riegel (13-2, 6-1).

Ayersville 23, Holgate 20

HOLGATE — Sig Rosok hit a game-winning 3-pointer with 2.5 seconds left for Ayersville in a Green Meadows Conference game.

Brayton Martin scored eight points to lead the Pilots (8-7, 2-2).

Mitchell Gonzalez led Holgate (6-10, 1-3) with nine points.

North Central 56,Pettisville 48

PETTISVILLE — North Central (6-9, 3-3) domintated the fourth quarter 20-9 to pull away in Buckeye Border Conference play.

Kurt Siegel scored 12 to lead the Blackbirds (5-9, 3-3 BBC), who led 39-36 after three quarters. Austin Dykstra added 11 points and David Reyes 10.

Fayette 34, Edon 25

FAYETTE — Chandler Sanford had 12 points to lead Fayette to a Buckeye Border Conference victory.

Brock Theil scored eight points to lead Edon.
